Drilled Tundra in April 2018 due to wet winter/spring. Didn't rain then for the rest of the summer and they died on their feet.
Hasn't put me off drilling winters in the spring though....

Did you spread them with fert spreader? How even are the plants and what depth did you get from cultivation.. Crows an issue ? .. Sorry for all questions but interested in the process! Thanks 👍

I've cultivated beans in twice with a lemken terra disc type machine. Once was quite good. The other time the crows ruined 20% of the area. I don't think I will repeat as i will either plough in or have purchased a tine drill so will cult and tine drill. The spreader spreads very even but depth is variable and some get caught by the pre-em.

Even enough spun on at around 280 kg ha then cultivated in with a 9 mtr willrich working down about 3 inches deep then most got a light roll a couple of fields didn't . Yes a few more from deeper are still just popping through . I got a pre em on only just before they emerged about 10 ten days before they were emerging . At least they are in the ground and are growing . I think we all get hung up on what we should do when really all the seed wants is soil contact and moisture and light . S barley spun on and cultivated in the same way last spring looks like it will be the farms best ever yielding . The last is going this next week so well know the final results soon but by the looks we should easily have a load or 2 left over to shift when the contact is fulfilled .Dog and stick at its best .
