We never had the need for a ginormous tractor that size... that was very nearly 100hpNot far away there, except 398 is better than 390
first 6 cylinder I drove was a MF3080

ThanksThink I’ll declare @holywell farmer the winner, you’re welcome to disagree as long as you don’t mind being wrong.
So what did you replace it with?I had a JD 7810 for 5 years , yes it was a good tractor , yes it was reliable and when traded in made good money but the tractor that replaced it was far far better in the field and on the road ,
It is of course only my opinion but a opinion that got me thrown off the JD lovers forum.
That didn't take longSo what did you replace it with?
Oh, and anyone know who the moderators for the machinery section are, we’ve got a member who needs evicting
Nothing should make anyone's list if it can't be repaired at home.
To make my list it also needs to turn in a small space, be light on wet ground & not depreciate in value, so-
MF 35 (3 cylinder perkins version)
MF 135
Don't need a third.

i think your missing the point, the question was top three tractors of all time! i would estimate of all the tractors built the fergys have lasted and are still at work if you look around there is the odd dexta or inter but the fergs are every where they have lasted and are reliableHow many would I need to establish 1200 acres ,,,,,, if we are going to plough it then a 135 will only pull 2 furrows here and possibly down to 1 furrow for a fair few acres ,
So let's say combine starts rolling on 15 July , averaging let's say 28 tons / hour ,,,,,, are we using 135 to cart crop as well , for me up to 5 miles away from grain store
Anyone going to give me a idea of how many I will need please
Ps bale and cart the straw as well and might as well add a bit of pre em spraying

I do get your point but just to throw another thought in to the conundrum , I know of many old 135 , 35 , major and whatever which are very reliable , but they actually do next to bugger all nowadays ,
Bit like my ex wife’s wedding ring ,,,,,,,,,, need weighing in
Only jesting of course
