Topcon x30 problems

Just started using a new to me x30 in a bateman. It keeps getting confused and thinks I'm going backwards instead of forwards. Recalibrating the compass fixes it but its a pain, any suggestions.

Is auto reverse detection turned on?

I have an X25 in a Househam and had the same issue with the X25! I haven't had to recalibrate since letting it get a fix before moving.

My X30 in my 2013 Bateman does the same, especially when reversing in to corners you get used to watching the direction and pushing the button on the screen as soon as you start moving.
maybe I’ll try a recalibration.

Ok I have an AGI4 receiver on RTK and only had the problem if I started the GPS while moving but once I let it get a fix and then move I don't have any issues. But there's no reverse button on the AGI4 system I don't think I'm much help.
