Bit of an aside, but I ran over a steel stake, the sort used to hold up tape for road works, with my s/h GR1600. The stake is completely mangled -- but the Kubota still cuts OK. I need to get the deck off as I think a blade is slightly bent!

Personally I'd look for a ride on zero turn. Either a Ferris, scag or JD. You won't believe just how god those things are

Had a zero turn for a few years - yes the manoeuvrability is great but both arms are constantly engaged - gone back to a steering wheel, much more relaxing and you can read your texts at the same time…

Man I would love an Ariens zero turn, I just think they look wicked and if you are steady you can take down all sorts, even cyclists. Wife firmly vetoed it though. Reckon I'll strike when she is distracted by a new kitchen.

Not much help I know. But this is a JD Z-trac I sold couple of years ago. Possibly the best mower I've used.
