Confirmed to me this morning that Manns will be new horsch agents. Something to do with their tie up in Europe. Manns reps will need to get upspeed with horsch gear quickly. Ime they are very knowledgeable about combines but sprayers?! It could be a good fit though...

How does that tie in with the Lemken tie up or is that only with us up north? And is it all horsch gear or just the sprayers?
Either way I can't see lemken been happy about an arrangement between claas and horsch even if just the odd dealer involved. Personally I was very disappointed when lemken dropped our local dealer as they really shifted lemken gear, can't see same happening under local claas dealer.

Claas do seem to be creating some waves. Not long ago, there was 4 Lemken dealers within 30miles of here, who between them shifted a lot of Lemken gear. Now there is one, Sewards. I went past there last week, a gazillion Lexions...but nowt else on show, no blue kit to be seen. Killed the brand at a stroke.

Main dealers often seem to stick to the mainstream (tractors, forklifts etc) and generic (tedders, rakes, round balers, cultivators and drills). Specialist stuff like potato equipment, sprayers etc they seem poor at generally, particularly re parts stocked. Thankfully, some of the factories will deal direct!!

When it comes to specialist kit like a sprayer you can't beat having direct access to the manufacturer

It's what works so brilliantly with Bateman - service, knowledge and back up that no multi franchise dealer can get close to imo

It seems you were typing as I was replying - I'll add Chafer, Standen (never known anyone else open the factory up at 11.30 pm specially to load me a free loan machine) and Tong engineering, all good british manufacturers supplying superb service, and always with the parts required on the shelf.

There are a lot of machines where I can't really understand why manufacturers use a dealer network ? All it does is add cost and confusion

Knowledge and parts stock for specialist kit is not realistic for a dealer vs the manufacturer, this is a small country to get around to support problems and marketing is normally paid for by manufacturers anyway

I'm running 520/85r42,I must admit when I first took it out on the road I did feel a bit like Sergeant Blast, driving the Army surplus special from the Wacky races:ROFLMAO::LOL:.
It's a big bit of kit,but my God do people get out of the way now(y).
Be careful in the wet with it, have worked a good bit on a farm with one and 1ft+ ruts for tramlines were the norm rather than exception on anything wet/clay. Sometimes the auto section craps its self and will stop spraying for about 50m.

The volatility of these arrangements would concern me as a buyer. I've stuck with british kit largely. Tong/swift taty yard kit, Chafer sprayers, standen taty field kit, easterby trailers, jcb forklifts. If I have the need to visit the factory of any of these I can still be home for tea.

You do know there are better trailers in Yorkshire don't you Spud?!
