Don't pay your quack over £100 for a medical when specialist can do it for £40. www.nationwidemedicals.co.uk or others too.I have a hgv class 1, so as long as I pass the medical i will be ok to steer
This " medical" is just a form filling exercise, with perhaps an eye and blood pressure check thrown in!Don't pay your quack over £100 for a medical when specialist can do it for £40. www.nationwidemedicals.co.uk or others too.
Just an update on my man wagon....chopped 2 ' off the back to leave 19'6" long.....then 1' off the top to leave 6'6" headroom. ....lowered back door frame 1' and beaver tailed inside up to the spring hangers ,approx 3" long.....box section tailboard with ally chequer floor
Bin and weighed it today with tractor plough , half a tank of diesel and nobody in the cab and it came to 7060kg.....so nearly half a ton to put passengers ,cooker and bed in
So self propelled garage, transport and sleeping accommodation in one
Oh and it does 56mph up hill and down but most importantly it stops without any weaving or delay

If its old enough(like mine) the 56 limit and speed limiter doesnt apply, nor does the motorway lane restriction.Just bin sat wi’ a cup o’ tea wonderin’ to Misen if tha’s had thysenn a good nights sleep - safe in’t knowledge that tha waint be goin inter’t garden tractor class, avin ter fin a Shetland Tractor, nor avin’ ter join one o’ yon prohibitive diet clubs - you ‘avin a motor that’s legal n’all?
T’ony thing you need ter keep thi eye on now is 56mph (or not) on yon A roads - seein as how points make prizes and that’s wiyout bit abaht keepin it upright n’plumb wi all four wheels on full metalled carriageways - as opposed to lying sideroads on in’t dyke!
We have something in common! I too had a "naughty boys" course last year! (36 in a 30), and the instructor privatly agreed that my old thing (the truck!) was exempt the limiter and lane restrictions, as I had read when they first came in but could I not bring it up as we would not get finished.
The 60 bit does explain why I am getting passed by all and sundry when I am trundling along at 50/ 55 ish, though not how, with limiters fitted !
I know of one around here which is over weight before they put the horse in! Has 10 ton rear springs fitted to keep the headlights shining on the road! Just how it does not get picked up on test I dont know, as the vehicle is weighed as part of the brake test.
