Trimble agGPS 542 export NTRIP TO SNIP

I'm after some help getting my Trimble agGPS 542 RTK transmitter to send NTRIP RTCM messages through a 4G modem to SNIP/RTK2GO so we can use this off of our John Deere 4G RTK modem to use our own current trimble mast to run our John Deere tractors.

We where using LH Agro to set this up and run it for us, but then I found out it didn't look to hard to do ourselves. I mentioned this to them and mid install they stripped it all out and left the site as they didn't like the idea of us running it ourselves... However this now means I've got to get my head around the setup myself...

I've got the 4G modem for the base station and SNIP program half setup but just trying to get my head around the Trimble setup and then getting that from the Trimble unit to the SNIP program...

Any help or contacts would be appreciated!

Simple answer is sell the Trimble and use an F9P, lots of help available for these setups.

I suspect you would have plenty of change left over and have a better system.

That's fine, but the only problem with that is that we need the Trimble for the radio RTK which is used by a number of other users...

Are these as accurate and repeatable (5 years) as the Trimble modules - it makes me a little nervous moving from a £3k controller to a £250 one!

Rtk corrections are just maths, doesn't matter who does the sums. Once your base is in position, there's no reason why it shouldn't be the same.

Right so with the f9p it looks like you have to pay for the corrections after a year? Our Trimble one just does the corrections for free, which is why ideally we would use that for the corrections - it's just a case of getting that to the server.

(If I've understood properly)

No you don't have to pay anything, you might be confusing Point Perfect which is like Trimbles Centre Point.

Only payment is buying the kit

Ah ok, yes I was. So that f9p for free sends the correction data to a server or pc (if connected) effectively?

So do I need the f9p and then the NTRIP master board with it?

If you want to spend a little bit more than £300 then a Mosaic X5 from Septentrio is about as good as you get, 6mm horizontal positionally accuracy, this is superior to your Trimble.

Doesn't need to be an RPI either, you can find cheaper options like Orange Pi if you know what you're doing.

I had considered perhaps bundling kits for rtk stations, wonder if that might be something people would be interested in?

Well I'm after something as simple as possible to set up, and the upfront cost isn't a huge issue, as long as it's reliable and suitable for commercial use.

simplest is like mine
f9p with wifi ntrip master (£300)in my attic connected to home wifi sending data via internet to rtk2go
you can ppp the position for commercial purposes if you want(ppp-precision coordinates)
