Yes we have one, well actually is a Farrel Trayler Dryer
Its the 25T model with four stirrers
Bought second hand but it suits us, self contained so don't need trailers to fill and empty and fast to change around. Not the handiesnt thing so you need a decent size yard to use them and its pretty power hungry to get it up and running
Old post, but what tray dryer do you run?Got a tray drier here which is the same principle drying up to 1600t malting barley, seed wheat, oats ,barley . No stirrers so rely on an average moisture and bucket mixing g on way to heap 700t heap of wheat average 14.5%. The secret is to dry it at a lower temp is hot air at 40°C it takes a wee bit more time but is much more fuel efficient and doesn't damage germ even at 30+% Moisture.
Downside at 30% 35t takes 12-14hrs.
Thank you very much for that, if it went in in 84 then it must have served you very well. Planning on making up a 140 tonne version of something similar in design... can't redesign the wheel! Likely Challow type floor and a concrete tunnel blown by a GSI fan/burner setup. Its a 35t concrete walled tray with concrete block/lintles running length ways @1200mm and 4x2 metal bearers running across at 300mm diamond mesh welded then drying mesh pop riveted. Went in during 1984 but replaced Alvan Blanch fan and Ecoflam burner in 2007.
