Twin or tri axle livestock trailer?

Is it possible to have the larger 'landrover' wheels on a tri-axle?

On a hot day, on a long journey the larger wheels would not be at risk of heating up so much.

Those Gamic trailers look the bees knees, any idea what a cattle only14ft tri (wheels outside) would cost?

250 miles each way? I do fair mileage in our lorry but I'd use a haulier for that.
Cost a fortune in tyres on that tri axle Gamic with the wheels on the outside pulled by the Isuzu/Navarra pick up doing 20/gallon. If you are moving heifers by a nice limmy bull you will do less mpg than some by the Angus ( the pot bellies act like hot air balloons 🎈 and make them lighter too tow)
Might as well be ready for Brexit and buy an old 3.5t pickup (Nissan cabstar/ Mitsubishi canter) and put a few wooden rails round it for a body too hold the heifers on. Once the regs get reduced you will be blown in.
sorry I couldn't think of a way to bring hitler into it.

At 250 miles from Anglesey are you planning to invade Poland?

We used to have twin axle wheels outside and went to tri axle wheels underneath 16 year ago. All Edwards trailers.

3 axle tows a lot nicer and to be honest on those 10 inch wheels the weight of an extra axle is negligible compared to how much more stable it is.
Tri axle uses lighter axles than a twin axle

No ... SW Scotland :nailbiting:

I have a current passport & inoculations
You had better be quick before Nicola builds the wall. Come now to SW Scotland and you may find as much resistance to annexation as an Italian General.
Your inoculations had better be good for the bugs up here.

Oh, and for goodness sake bring a 3 axle trailer

Get one of these without decks, buy two cattle division gates so if partly full you can gate the cattle to just forward of the axles centred.

Tows well with bigger wheels than a tri and more capacity KG wise as slightly lighter due to one less axle.

Shouldn‘t push straight as much as a tri on roundabouts etc.

sometimes borrow a tri axle and biggest problem i find is lack of weight transfer for slippery lanes or setting off on a steep incline, myself i prefer two wheels underneath as much easier to keep wheels on the tar when meeting folkon single track roads
