Two bales high!

How does it apply to Northern Ireland? The decisions made by their Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine don't apply to Northern Ireland.
I'm assuming it is EU related (as stated above), doesn't strike me as a regulation you'd bring in unless you had to?

And if it's from the EU, it'll apply equally to us.

Relates back to EU nitrates directive from the early 90s that required individual member states to dream up regulations to make life as awkward as possible. Restricting the stacking of bales to 2 high is a decision made in Dublin by someone who hasn't got a clue but needs to justify their own existence so thankfully it doesn't apply to us.

Once had an inspection from Environment Agency (or similar) in 90's who seemed to think that all silage pished effluent out all the time and questioned a 10000 litre tank buried to catch juice from 1000t clamp being big enough.
We used clamp for 8 years and never emptied the tank. It probably evaporated away over the summer.

So post #3 is incorrect and it's not an "EU rule"?

Not sure how it could evaporate much in a tank !!

Did the tank have a slight hole in it by any chance !?!

It's a EU rule.

Even as I type thousands of gendarmes are scouring rural France ready to lock up any miscreants who recklessly endanger law and order by putting a bale more than 2 metres off the ground! Persistent offenders will be sent to Madame La Guillotine!
