As mentioned couple of posts before, Richard Webster Nutrition (RWN).
If they are available as they do get scarce & I know I had to wait a bit before i got a second load. Not esp cheap but well cut with minimal wires sticking out.

Used some side walls for 1st time, just uncovering the pit now. Noticeable difference between them and normal tyres. No waste under ordinary tyres but some under side walls. Quick way to cover a pit but I’m not convinced.
Was that on top of covers or straight on top of the sheet?

2 plastic sheets with tyres touching.
I can understand how tyres are better for this situation.
We double sheet then weave sheet then tyrewalls. We get absolutely no waste whatsoever as a result. The plastic weave sheet must be crucial to the process judging from your post. These sheets and tyrewalls are expensive to buy to start with but they're an investment that reap rewards in waste reduction over many years. Why not try say half a pit's worth and judge for yourself? We've had loads of people become interested after seeing our sheeting procedure. Once you've used tyrewalls you'll never go back to tyres. We use fork extensions to bunch them together and wagon strap them in a bundle. Makes the whole job far more pleasant.

Give the man a chance, all he needs is half the UK fleet to have tyre changes to cover your clamp!
Think 50p per tyre wall was a bit of a giveaway tbh.
They were well over £1 per 4-5 years ago ...... and that was for a full load
@Derrick Hughes I have some nice barley straw in the shed that I could swap/backload for sidewalls?
