Do you use one, ive got one , had it a few years, just use it for tedding the grass, using it yesterday to spread, ted out some mowen swaths, i set it up with the wheels in the middle hight setting, machine leaned forwards, tractor in economy pto, revs at 470, tractor gear 7 on the newholland electro gearbox, so it goes quite slow but steady? Any one else with the same tedder and user, setup comments please for me and others?

in an ideal world? the mowen swaths would be the right? size for the 6 metre width stabilio, but they arnt, they are cut with a fella 167 mower, good well built, made mower by the way? so when tedding out the cut swarths it grabs a few extra? once spread its ok, i always start one bout in from the hedge, then ted the hedge side slower with less pto speed so not to chuck the grass into the boundary? took 5 hours yesterday to spread out that field?

How big is the field? What's the issue? Can't help without a bit more info

Set rotor tines next to hedge to row up on first round so as not to Chuck in hedge. Run tractor arms in float, i.e. right down and use top link to set depth of dig of tines along front of machine.

no real issue, its just a shame for me that the tedder dosnt have 3 cut swarths to spread evenly instead of the 1.8 metre mower cut ones, but thats what ive got?

Have a 770, which I think is smaller rotors, 6 arms on each, so may be different, but I find it works best at a slightly lower pto speed, 400 - 420 ish.

Can be very slow going on heavy fresh cut 3m swaths, 2-3k sometimes is all it will do without slipping the clutch incessantly, you can generally fly along on subsequent passes though after a bit of drying.

Does anyone else have trouble with the roll pins that hold on the wheels shearing if you try to go round a bend with it on the ground?

Is the headstock unlocked when it's working? Set the height and then lengthen the top link until it's taking the weight. Can drop the link arms then
