Hi I'm a journalist who writes for a number of rural / agricultural magazines.
I'm working on a possible magazine feature and am looking for case studies of farmers who are also retained firefighters, emergency responders, mountain rescue, LIVES paramedics alongside their main job.
I'm looking for men and women who might fit the bill - for those chosen to take part it will just involve a telephone interview and I'll also require some hi-res submitted photos to accompany the words.
If this is you, or you know of anyone who fits the bill, please do drop me a line at [email protected]
Thank you

Hello Kate,

I will move your post and tag it into a thread we have running, where there are a few members who may be able to help you.

I thought some of you might find this interesting !
I know it's an advertisement for Ariel photography but it gives you all a good insight into how the German fire service works and operates .
This was a training scenario and all stations get one once a year . They are not broadcast as training we are alarmed and treat it as a real incident .

Ours this year was a fire in a kindergarten with persons reported missing .

a few photo's from ours

Several UK Fire & Rescue services are evaluating drones, ours included. The one we are trialling has thermal imaging capability, so is potentially useful for pinpointing seats of fire in large buildings and searching for missing persons.

They haven't given us an exercise without warning yet! We regularly get ones where we are alerted from home station, but they are always pre planned and we are sitting there waiting for the call. There's a warehouse fire exercise coming up in a fortnight. We're changing over to new BA sets 1st of November (Draeger like yours this time) so the main intention is to test our knowledge on new procedures.
