Fire brigade Minden
Löschzug (27 plus firemen that primarily put fires out as in attacking the fire ) City center
In Germany we are organised in to Gruppe that is 9 men
1 gruppenführer - leads the group
1 Maschinist - operates the pump and generator etc
1 Melder - Is the eyes and ears for the gruppe leader
2 Angriffstrupp - these are your primary 2 firefighters
2 Wassertrupp - These supply water to the fire ,to the pump and from the pump to the fire .
they also double up as the rescue troop if it all goes pair shaped
2 Schlauchtrupp - these support the angriff and
wassertrupp basically they are
multi purpose , they also get
special orders for example setting the foam cannon up .
A Zug is 3 gruppe so 27 men in the larger brigades as in the big citiesall 27 men will concentrate on one job while another Zug will concentrate on another .

But I agree it's great to give the pump a work out !
We tried ours out last friday using water from the
mittellandkanal , got up to 1850 ltr per min at 15 bar ,
just for sh#ts and giggles tried a B HohlStrahlrohr
I nearly ended up as the rocket man !!!
We put a monitor 1C hoses and my troops B hose from the distributor and the pump was still up for giving more !!
wouldn't want to be on the end of that at 750 ltr for more than a few mins .

You using ejector pumps there or on fresh water?
Really enjoyed my BA initial. I see you are on 300bar sets, we took delivery of new ones a few weeks ago. They replace 200 bar sets

Yes the instructors told us about those, not much range with 200bar! They said we've got it too easy
find the BA lot more enjoyable than ladders&pumps200 bar maybe about 20 minutes working in heat, not sure I want to be in much longer than that in heat!Yes the instructors told us about those, not much range with 200bar! They said we've got it too easy

Please be carefull out there Gentlemen .
Serious accident this week , 9 firemen in hospital 4 serious flown to hospital by helicopter .
Fire brigade turned out to a combine fire , the drive lost control of his HLF after coming round a left hand bend ,went into the oncoming traffic and clipped two other cars before going off the road and rolling twice into a ditch .
It seems the 2000 ltr water played a part in causing the accident .

I can't say in the Ziegler appliances !
We have a Schlingmann and although there are some baffles in our tank still not enough .
Our problem is we have a all terain appliance with a very soft ride , not ideal for going flat out on country lanes .
The inquriy is running and I would think the priliminary results will be out on Monday .
We have to do blue light safety training once a year and the one thing that I would say is missing in this course is how to correct a vehicle once it starts rocking from side to side !
