Welger RP435 Net issue

Slightly different problem to the other thread, our baler gets a build up of short material above the pick up reel where the short bits of belt are the feed the net in when required. When it builds up it pushes the bits of belt in front of the roller and the net doesn’t feed in evenly and we end up with bales only half netted. Once it’s cleared (by hand) it’s fine until it builds up again. Seems to happen with dry silage, hay and straw.
Thanks

Feed it faster . Especially when starting the bale .
My advice is to reverse off the swath and hit it at full baleing speed when starting the bale that'll sort most of your issues.

When starting the bale they need a good feed or the rotors puts the product back through before the bale starts to roll so feed it and keep feeding it as much as possible to the point you'll think it's rough

Do you have a picture of it please
It's a rubber sheet it bolts in above the net box lid and hangs down the gap between the netter and the front of the belts . They usually get thrown out at pdi because they're a waste of space and cause as many problems as their supposed to fix

We have the rubber flap in our 435, and it still does it in short choppy straw
yes, I have taken mine out as seemed to worsen the chaff build up, in certain situations I end up putting it back in though. The netting system always been a nightmare since new, Lely never really got it going right. wouldn't buy another.

I don’t usually bale with our baler but did for the first 3 or 4yrs and don’t remember it being much of a problem, the lad that bales with it now seems to get a lot of bother in choppy straw. Not really sure if it’s something worn on the baler or how he drives it.
A neighbour has a newer Rv160 and that always seems to make neat bales, if I can come across one I think that is what I’ll change ours for

Short straw is a pain but you really need to push it on especially in light crops and starting the bale .

I had a lad saying one of his drivers had nowt but bother he was a very gentle operator. I sorted him in 20 mins .

Most issues come from drivers just stopping to let the bale out then when the tractor eases off gently into the swath there's not enough going in to feed it properly so it pushes it back through the rotor comb and ends up the back of the netter .

Also if you're running between swaths at the headland in really bad stuff I turn off the pto to stop it .
