Welger RP435 problem

Hi baler gurus out there, I’ve got a welger rp435 the baler usually flies but today it seems to be having major issues!

It keeps grabing grass before the bale starts to rotate and throws it up into the netting chamber therefore having to get out every bale to clean it out and push the rubber deflector flaps back in the correct position!

I’ve tried different density, pressure and speed to no avail

Any help would be hugely appreciated

TIA

Never seen that in grass before but in straw was always just too little crop going in when starting a bale.

Are you reversing off the swath or just stopping to drop the bale then pull away ?

We had same problem ours was pulling grass from the bottom drive roller in between a cleaning scraper bar that is spaces off the roller. We took it out and where it mounts in was ovaled out so welded up and drilled back out. Was only a problem in really dry hay/starw where it didn’t want to start tuning the bale till it have enough in the chamber after it had started the bale turning it was fine.

You need high forward speed as possible, low pto revs ,this will help, but you can also weld rods on the starter roller across it,think 8mm round Inbetween each flat bar to improve grip.it happens when grass is dry and wirey in our area, never with softer first cut ,just wirey stuff ,roller can't get hold of it.if you do weld rods on there is a proper Lely modification ,whether agco can supply details?i had them somewhere but not sure if I can find them, its like a bulletin ,but be careful that the rods clear the belts,it even tells you how much weld to put on !if you do this it definetely cures it as I did one years ago,now don't bother, just low revs high speed if it's causing trouble .oh and make sure drop floor is fully shut and under pressure.

That scraper bar used too get bowed on ours and stretch the holes in the sides of the baler we taken it out now works okay without

Hi I know this is a old post my baler is doing this in hay. Are these weld on bars available to buy from dealers or is it more of a do it yourself fix and did it help.? Thanks Jim
