It used to be that farmers did well under a (national) Labour government, it can be see after 22 years that this is not the case in Wales, with ever more bs regulation, with top heavy administration. Creating jobs? Yes, in the third sector.

Looking back across the border welsh government has been good to its farmers in some ways too, grants/help from farming connect that hasn’t been available in England and up until now most of wales has got off lightly with NVZ ‘s
Where did the farming connect funds come from? Creamed off our single farm payments.. who gained most? The consultants...

Speaking of SFP, Wales did better than England with historic based payments.
When sfp first came out I picked up a card from carver knowles at the dairy event showing the difference in payments for a 1 million litre dairy farm over the following 10 years, the difference amounted to 100k in favour of the welsh dairy farmer and during that time this part of England went into an NVZ with no financial help, meanwhile just over the border a 40% grant was available to construct slurry storage via farming connect

Trouble is, the different regimes have got us squabbling amongst ourselves about who’s better/worse off, it would be better fir our industry if we were all under the same regime presenting a united case against anything unfair, instead it looks like a case of divided they rule us.
Wales doesn’t have a monopoly on Tb, as I say, squabbling amongst ourselves

Remind me, how has the Tb situation been going for you guys in the Principality?
I’ve amended it, as you clearly haven’t got a clue.
Well, I think I have. Why should I accept my stock being taken at half their worth whilst farms, half a mile away in Wales, but in the same breakdown cluster area get their individually valued ?

I’m sorry about your stock, but valuations have fallen hugely here. As an observer of the English Tb situation, it appears they are doing something, this is ABSOLUTELY not the case in Wales.
