We're running out of space on our SFI seed mixes collective deal

With SFI payments being made already to farms around the country. Suppliers are seeing a surge of orders, raising concerns that a shortage of supply is on the way.

We’ve been seeing massive variation in quality of seed mix and price of packs all the way from eco mixes that meet the standard but won’t deliver extensive soil health benefits through to mixes that will both meet the standard and deliver additional biodiversity and soil health benefits.

If you’re unsure about mix, feel free to drop us a message or an email at [email protected].

We’d encourage everyone to make a decision on the scheme and to get your orders in sooner rather than later.

We will be sending prices out from Thursday (8th Feb). We’ve secured a rate on average 30% below market price for the first 1000 acres on a good quality AHL1 and AB1 seed mix.

Our collective deals are open to all farmers. All you need to do is sign up to Farmdeals and join the collective!

Farmers need to decide on if they want to be a good samariton on this one ,spending upwards of £20 acre more on Flowers than they need to to stay within Scheme Rules, that will give very little benefit to the soil
Iv no idea what your prices are other than what's already up on Farm Deals , but I have seen prices vary online from £40 to £58 acre

i’ve had loads of quotes now and the @Farmdeals collective deal price for alh1 was unbearable - quite a lot cheaper than the next best for the same mix

it’s a pretty good investment for the £852/ha payment !

this new market seems to be full of traders trying it on / chancing luck selling mixes most farmers don’t know what’s a good price on

i’ve also seen / been offered a few mixes that wouldn’t satisfy the requirements so be careful what ii buy not just what it costs !

I think you meant unbeatable. (y)
I expect only farmers will know that by phoning around
I could say my prices are unbeatable, but could end up looking silly 😜
But that's nothing new for me
Although I do sell the full range if SFI mixes and as most know I sell for Hurrells , I've been selling simular mixes for the Welsh Scheme for a few yours so the band wagon as long gone😂

Our farmer members can join our collective deal and then once the deal has ended we will then ring and email round the best price we have received from a range of suppliers.
Clive says it's the cheapest price he's found, but you're saying the price isn't know yet? I's confused!

If I sign up to the collective deal but it isn't the best / cheapest, do I have to go ahead and buy anyway having signed up?

No. You get a quote and choose whether to proceed. Like with any supplier.

no commitment. Although @Derrick Hughes isnt allowed to join collectives as he isn’t a farmer.

I thought @Derrick Hughes did have a farm, as well as being a salesman?

What's to stop him joining the deal as a farmer, then saying no to the deal, just to find out the price?
Or finding out Farmdeals had beaten his unbeatable price and selling it on?
Or finding out that his Yorkshire suppliers were pitching it through Farmdeals and cutting out their reps?

Choose your supplier wisely is all I will say.
Study the mixtures and make sure they are up to standard.
