Was on tablet/phone yesterday when the update was rolled out. The new look isn't too bad on those devices, but I reckon it looks fine on the desktop.
Well done Clive and the team (y)

tablet will improve a lot soon - we are taking the feedback onboard and solutions are already being worked on

we have to test before deployment to live but hopefully we can fix a lot of initial issues within a week

Perhaps I have an old PC but the avatar and right hand column are just much wider proportionately. So much so that Clive has gone all blurry. If I increase the the zoom to 125% then the right hand column does disappear but the text is like a Peter and Jane book. Mine looks nothing like the screen shots above. I also use the Stalking Directory forum (that's deer stalking not perving) and that's fine. What am I doing wrong ?

some screen shots would help us and what device / browser are you on ?

avatar area will shrink soon as will blue and white page borders, its on our "fix" list as clearly an issue on certain devices and screen sizes

I overall like it. Looks very slick and professional - not that the other version didn’t. This one just seems more so hah

One thing that’s annoying me though, is the emojis. On my phone they open up right over the text box and then I have to close it to see what I’m typing again (first world problems ) I preferred it more when, once they were open, they hung out under the text box so you could pick as you want. Not open and close, open and close. Not sure if they also do this on desktop.

I also miss my rolling over laughing green smiley :censored:

But I do like the recently used part of them!

We are looking into putting commonly use smilies at bottom of post reply box for quick and easy access to solve this - things should evolve over the next week or so rapidly now we have hosting well and truly sorted

Broadband is gash today so apologies if this is in the previous 15 pages. Top is missing from the bottom of a page.

When you scroll a little up arrow appears in the bottom right corner. The up arrow is standard functionality in the new version so we didn’t include it.

Can you check you are seeing it.

Also menu sticks at the top. So menus and new posts (lightning strike) all always visible.

I missed that at first but I think, as @Chris F says, you'll find you don't need it now 'cos the menu (I think that's what he called it ) stays in view when you scroll down.

I'm sure we'll all get used to it after a bit - it's just going to take Luddites like me a bit longer than the computer whizz kids:facepalm:

Can we have a button at the bottom of each page to either go back to the home page or back to the topic page please? Or both?

Currently we have to scroll right back to the top to go back to the home page.

there already is one

823776

there is also a arrow on the right hand side that follows you as you scroll down the page - hit it at any point and it takes you back to top

the arrow does top and the TFF logo does new posts

Forum title bar does forum home page

not tried it on a tablet - will take a look latter

to delete one is just the same as deleting text on a PC / laptop - backspace over the emoji you wish to remove in a post editor box

By George, etc! The cog symbol in the tool bar lets me see the meaning of emojis and also lets me delete them.

So that's all good (y)
