what grinds your gears

Bank holidays, cheques that still haven't cleared after 8 days! They must clear today!

I recently discovered that cheques can still be returned by their bank, five days after they 'clear' and appear in yours.

I now require a fortnight for customer's cheques to clear before releasing anything.
Is it just farming that still sees cheques as an acceptable form of payment?
I haven't owned or accepted a cheque in 10 years!

Pretty much, yes.

I don't understand it, either - some get angry if you tell them you want them to clear first, as if it's a test of trust. Why should I trust them? I don't know them, have never met them and have no idea what their finances are like. If they retort with the boringly predictable 'Well, how do I know YOU or the MACHINE exists?', I always tell them the same thing - get in the car and find out. I'm here every day.

Effing toothache. Driving me mad! Third abscess this year, in pain, on two lots of ab's and still look like I've got a golf ball in my mouth.

Having had a tooth out last Tuesday, which wiped me out last week, a bit unexpectedly (it didn't go well:cry:), and still aching from it, I totally sympathise! :(

A few years ago I had a similar issue to yourself, the best thing I ever did was have that tooth out, abscess and infection in your mouth constantly is not good for you, and I'm sure effects more than just a tooth!

Hope your better soon(y)

Thanks.
Had root canal treatment on the other two and they're sorted (£250 a pop Ouch!) but this one has to come out when the swelling has gone down. I can't wait.

My sympathies:(

Tooth abscess are the work of the devil, usually happens to me on a weekend.
Spent a few hours once sitting in NHS Direct for emergency treatment...just needed abs and they said they wouldn't be able to see me.
Just wanted to cry....pain unbelievable, felt like getting the pliers on it:eek:

Saw me in the end and got 3 days of abs, didn't touch it and needed another 7 day course.

Teeth....they are painful coming and painful going:mad:

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
