Morgan Evans usually run an auction for grazing lots.

Having said that, there are quite a few dairy farmers in the NW corner who could be interested but it's a bit like a piece of string.
Anything between £50-200/ac depending on how much stock can be carried, what sort of stock, water availability, pH of land etc etc

what you deem its worth

fair is what you deem its worth

Do a business case for it, what's your return on the outlay? Your doing the work and the owner is having his land kept tidy. You should be making more than they are from it based on these facts. If all farmers go bust then they will have to pay someone to top it, you are providing a service.

TBH I can't see how rented ground ever pays, but plenty do it and appear to be making a bit. If you can work it out, go in at 40% of the return on investment, keeping 60% for yourself to just make sure your not making a loss in a bad year.

No, no no, this is all wrong.
Derrick posts first with the going rate, then others post whittling it down.

Political Motivation.
Ask someone who don't have a draw full of axes to grind, seems strange that the same scrounger s will go out and pay many Millions to own land

My bone of contention is, threads that drive the rent price down, are usually followed by " My Landlords kicking me off the land because he wants to plant trees / rewild / ( In other words, found something more profitable to do..... ). Can't have it both ways.

Anyhoo........off topic.:sorry:
