Wheel stud removal

Got a stripped thread on front stud on 312. Nut still on.
What's best course of action?
Remove nut and run on 7.
Weld nut on and hope to wind out stud?
Another plan?

Assuming the nut will come off can you just put a smaller thread on the stud and have one smaller than the rest?

I was going to look at my 312 tomorrow but I’m pretty sure they are.

No it's threaded.

Can you drill with very small size across stud, then build drill sizes up, when big enough to put a small steal implement through unwind, welding and unscrewing lot of stress on weld

If it’s threaded, I’d remove the wheel and weld a nut on to get it moving. When it’s free, chop the welded nut off and take it all the way out.
Cover the other studs to protect them from welding spatter.

Weld nut on, with a bit of luck the heat from the welding followed by cooling will help free the stud as well.

If I’ve read that right, the nut is spinning on the thread but won’t tighten nor loosen??
If that’s the case then both nut and stud are scrap. you’ve no option but to cut the nut off then the stud is splined into the hub and will drive out with hammer and punch

Weld nut to stud and the heat from welding will help free off stud and wind out stud and fit new stud 1 hour job . .

I’ve looked at the pic again. I thought it was a splined stud with flange at the back but on closer inspection they look like threads under the muck.
Either way the stud is scrap. Weld nut to stud and unscrew the lot
