It's a different kettle of fish surely, France itself is far bigger with more ' open space ' than here and that's without the rest of the Continent.

hmm perhaps if they were kept in the remote areas , i would say this area is as populated as the lake district , with a few biggish towns around , this protest was in charolles where they have had a particular issue just north of there

For anyone interested there is a consultation on Lynx introduction at Forth Inn, Main St, Aberfoyle, Stirling, FK8 3UQ
Tomorrow 2 to 4pm

up to my eyes in it actually, dont know where to turn with the last of the h ay making breakdowns etc....ie far more productive things to do with my valuable time.

and anything that predates my sheep will be removed asap.

Could be a bit of a drive too ----
I agree with your removal policy too---it's my job to look after the welfare of my flock and that includes predators of any kind

I will add to this that i don't begrudge any predator taking the odd lamb but my experience says that predators can sometimes want more than a few kills
The conflict (for me) comes when I need to protect my flock/income and am denied the right to do so when required ---and that doesn't mean after protracted applications for licenses , life in the field doesn't work like that
I don't even think that reintroduction of Lynx would be a disaster for the lamb industry but it could certainly have the potential to be very damaging to individual farms
Wolves in UK on the other hand seems to be bonkers

I think you're underestimating the impact lynx would have, if allowed to proliferate.
