Which tractor?

I’m thinking of changing my current tractor to either a 2018 Valtra t174 active with front links and pto, 1500 hrs and having my 4yr old loader swapped onto it or a 2016 (new shape) new holland t7.210 with a loader 1100hrs, front links, pto, sidewinder, intelliview screen. The tractor has been owned by an old boy who has done no hard work on it but is the same age as the tractor we want to swap. The new holland would cost 4K more but two years older but then does have more power and kit. Would you be worried about buying an older tractor with low hours as it would be then quite old when trading it in in four years?

I’ve run valtra for years and I’ve tried the Nh 7210 and there’s only one winner the valtra has more power than the Nh . Working side by side the valtra will leave the Nh behind . The valtra will also be easier on fuel and won’t need its back end opened as much as the nh . And then the Nh is not valuable as the valtra , the valtra I’d far better value for money.

Id vote valtra aswel. The valtra is a top end product with quality parts whereas the nh is just not near as good and as james said ul be fixin it more often. If ur worried about power the sisu motor in the valtra will stand up to a good remap no problem but id be surprised if it would be lackin anyway

El poder es solo una pieza más de información. Un Valtra T174 defectuoso es preferible a un NH T 7210 sin defectos, en mi opinión. No son productos comparables, porque la calidad, la fiabilidad y el valor de los usados (no el precio) son superiores en Valtra

I would say that it should be down to personal preference. Having had excellent service from my New Holland for many years, I wouldn't hesitate to have another one. While the Sisu engine is excellent in the Valtra, I doubt very much whether it would be more economical than the FPT engine in the NH.
Both excellent tractors and I would be :scratchhead: :scratchhead::scratchhead: to choose between them. If it came down to nothing else between them, I would choose the NH because it is British assembled and higher specification. You surely wouldn't go far wrong with either.

Have had Valtra’s for 10years + but the new holland dealer is 5 minutes away with the Valtra dealer not having the main dealership near us, just subcontracted mechanics.

I wouldn’t worry about the dealer , I’m 7 miles from the Nh and 50 from the valtra , but I don’t need him very often.

I like valtra but I see think barry reid, grassmen video man with valtra, has now got a nh, not 100% but think there was issues with newer valtra compared to the older ones
