Can anyone recommend/suggest a contractor to lay a new asphalt floor in my silage pit, West Central Scotland???
ThanksWallace Dick at Darvel did a good job for a neighbour.
I'll be looking for advice about that, but this is available locally -What is the spec for the asphalt? We have an excellent local ground works contractor that is prepared to lay it for us but I just need to make sure I source the right product!
It will be an old pit, recovered. You can asphalt thinner than a layer of concreteNever seen a tarmac silage pit floor , always concrete here

I have seen silage being tipped 2 days after the asphalt was laid. Not a problem.Seen them from time to time. Silage effluent still eats into it but otherwise very long lived and hard wearing. Can also drive on it a lot sooner than you would ever dare try with freshly laid/cured concrete.
No quotes, but interested in the price as our pits need doing.Anyone want to share what they paid? Had a quote to do one of ours by a local guy and was wondering if it’s good or not!!
