why are people so stupid

There was an article on the front page of the Times yest about the average IQ dropping. The article was about eating eggs and how crucial a woman’s diet is during the conception phase in determining the eventual IQ of the baby. The article said that average IQ is actually falling. I’ve suspected it for a while but didn’t realise that it is actually happening.
Well, yes. I would expect that every time a paper goes to press, intelligence slips back a little

The proximity sensors put drivers in a panic. Six inch grass sets them off.
Prospective range rover owners should prove they understand its capabilities and how to use them or take a course.
Caravan owners should know how to reverse or take a course(used to I know )
Bmw drivers should have instruction on indicator use.
Prospective performance car owners should take a course in the capabilities of the car and themselves.
We have enough bureaucratic rubbish may as well add some more.

Saw an accident waiting to happen other day, jd 8rx quad track with a fully mounted 8 furrow plough about to enter roundabout , arse end of plough was so far back as he turned its only a matter of time before some inattentive plonker gets too close or takes the other lane when he's turning and bang side out of car.

Actually the new Highway Code backed by legislation IIRC has emphasised that pedestrians take precedence over everything followed by horse riders, cyclists, bikers, cars, vans, to lorries/buses.

Having done both IAM and RoSPA tests, I am surprised that they aren't more popular.

Too easy to pass your driving test then relax .

Not always possible, trees and overhead wires.
Even tipped up you would struggle to see a car behind you, I know someone who backed up a short distance with a vaccy tank recently when they met a car, unfortunately there was a car right behind too, that didn’t end well for the car
We have stickers on our trailers from the Road Haulage Association -
If you cannot see my mirrors I cannot see you.

If you can't back a silage trailer up 40 yards without a camera you must be a very poor driver, tractors have big mirrors
That;s a stupid comment, nobodys talking about the backing bit, being able to see what;s behind. Bikes, cars, walkers There is narrow lanes and narrow lanes , some with banks ,even with mirrors ,not a lot can been seen behind , round here way there is always somebody there or will be 2 seconds later

Early today driving down a single track country lane, saw a tractor and trailer coming towards me maybe 1/4 mile or less away.
Spotted a gateway and pulled in , rather naively expecting the car that was right on my arse to do same.
Nope woman just charged past and then 100m further on she woke up.
Tractor then had to edge on to narrow verge whilst she attempted to get out of way.
Is this lack of observation,
Saw it but couldn't care less,
Lack of intellect
Lack of common sense.
All of above.
I often refer to driving as an open air IQ test. I think the majority of poor driving is simply down to lack of intelligence.
