Looking to upgrade 2 tractors to one can't afford to replace both.
For what I do, have one tractor permanently on row crops ,other one on duals.
Only do 250hrs a year between them. Hiring in isn't an option .
Wondered if I had one tractor on rowcrops for inter row work then put a wide dual on to row crop for cultivation work.
Duals would be on and off abit . But easier than changing wheels .

Often change wheels from standard to row crop and back 3-4 times a week through the season. Takes about 40 minutes for the full set but it’s quite common to just change the back ones which is obviously quicker,

You can’t put a wider wheel on outside of a dual. You could go two row crops like the Americans do or just be a miserable git like me and do everything with intermediates I use 580s for everything. Mightn’t work of your doing veg or tatties though

its normal in corn areas in us, i think a german kock&sohn kn system is a ok system if you want it here(same as shown abow). i have seen other systems but if you want some space under the drum kn is best. have no experiense but many users have traded them in into systems with rim ring and clamps again, its been the center boult they have been troubeling with. on the kn system. on rowcrop tyres are designed for high air pressure i use 70psi in my rear tyres sutch preassure is not good for soil compaction. so a wheel vagon and a another wheel set is maybe a good solution.

How many hours have they done?
I know people who have gone from two tractors to one, they always go back

I would get a tractor with bar axle. Assuming the rowcrops are set narrow there could be a second hub on the bar ready for the dual with an offset rim.

Drive tractor on a block of timber fork the dual in tighten it up and away. I can do them in 10 min by myself with right tools.

Do it a fair bit at place I help out occasionally. Tractor could be harvesting in morning and subsoiling in afternoon

I’ve seen wide wheels with a rowcrop dual to keep within width limits on the continent but haven’t seen the other way around but should be possible once you get the rolling circumferences and rim sizes all matched. Changing big wheels on 150hp + tractors is dangerous so I do feel your pain. I think I’d talk to stocks ag; they would soon sort you out with a set. Failing that; tracks by lynx engineering or someone? Narrow and lgp at the same time…

I have a plan to get a dual wheel set of 12.4x48 rowcrops so when i have rowctops on and i have go baling or drilling, i can just clip them on and avoid changing whole wheel
