Hello, I'm a young entrepreneur and farming enthusiast, recently graduated from Nottingham, UK. I have an idea that could significantly benefit farmers by helping them generate more revenue and access a broader marketplace. It's essentially a web-based platform aimed at facilitating easier access to funds and providing a robust marketplace. Before launching my venture, I'd like to connect with some of you to have a conversation, either by visiting your office or farm. This will help me better understand the challenges present in the UK agricultural sector and ensure that the platform I develop addresses your needs effectively. I'm eagerly awaiting your positive response. Thank you!

I have one more favour to ask: please take a moment to fill out this farming survey linked below. You could be one of the three lucky winners to receive an exciting £50 Amazon voucher!

We don't do secrets on here, can you just say what it is you have please

Thank you for your response , I know there is lack of transparency the project is just on the idea stage we look forward to get as much information as possible from farmers as a initial research , we are not registered yet but soon will be . its basically an app or website like amazon that will let you sell your products with some additional features to it . I know there are lot of scammers around but I can assure you its a genuine start-up that can help farmers but there is nothing like promising making you a millionaire over night. i am trying to fill some gap that i found in market. To be honest i am an international student graduated recently from Nottingham Trent University residing Nottingham trying to bring up some thing but since being an outsider i find it hard to get in touch with farmers to get some answers to my questions clarity that i lacks but back in my country i am familiar with the situation of the farmers going through, so i approached NFU and they suggested to have a chat in farmers forum.

Mainly the things i would like to know
1. The main problems faced by you in farming
2.is there any issues with selling products do you find it hard to find market
3.how do you raise funds for farming, do you find difficulty
4. What documentation or evidence do you collect to verify transactions when selling your products? Do you use invoices, and what measures do you take to maintain accountability in your business practices?

if you could do the survey that could be lot helpful as well.

Thank you for your time.

Forgive me, but it feels like you’re over-promoting things already…
i do apologise if you do feel like that, that intent is just pure to understand farmers better and the voucher is just a motivation for people to do it, i have approached in various groups but there was no response to be honest, so i decided to go with a lucky draw at least so people have the motivation to do it.

That is strange I thought the NFU didn't acknowledge any farming forums existed.

My only concerns are what are the extras, is it environmental premiums for certain criteria and are you working for RT?? 😉

As farmers, some of us produce food but I’d say the majority produce ingredients which makes a big difference when considering marketing opportunities. We’re probably unusual in that our fresh veg can be sold directly and we’re fortunate to have a good local abattoir for our beef and lamb. Anything that can connect buyers to producers without greedy middlemen would be worth considering.

Sadly I am unable to fill in the 1st answer,
Are you asking how much my asset value is?
what it cost to get a crop of Cereals from stubble to stubble ?
from start as before to the end of selling the crop which may be as long as 24 months or more?
I am a grower of poultry is it what I budget to have to spend at start of crop to when you get paid in my case every 9 weeks? dose that include the capital cost of erecting any housing.
To give a comprehensive answer for any Farmer, I think it will be difficult, as when you get into Farming anything you pet your money up front and hope to have more at the end when you pack up in my case so far 58 years.

its basically an app or website like amazon that will let you sell your products with some additional features to it .

This has been done several times over. Why are you different? How will your marketing budget keep with supermarkets? How will your website appeal to those who want to shop local and already do at local farm shops?

For most farmers its not the ability to sell a product, its bringing it to market. The effort involved in selling direct is many many times more than selling wholesale. The best example of a business to shortern the supply-chain was Farmdrop but they went out of business owing farmers millions.
