I have a 50 here. Had a back actor at a time (before I had it) but it has been replaced by a home made weight block. It has a 165 engine and manual gear box. No pto or hydraulics. Pump on the front of the engine. It’s a quick and strong pump on them. Good strong loader, just a bit light at the back end without the digger on. I paid £2000 for that a year ago with a hydraulic head stock, a good bucket and a rough old shear grab

If it's a 3 cylinder then 135 based
Is someone lifting our legs?
3cyl engine with backend based on the larger tractor, probably 165, with reduction and inboard discs brakes. Often, or poss always for some markets, fitted with additional drum brakes on the outer hubs. Most I have seen also had tractor hydraulics and PTO like the earlier 203/5 and 2303/5.

You used to be able to buy kits to do this, but I would urge caution, when there is wear in the casing, you may repair thrm but it will do nothing to the performance. I would buy a new pump and also check the drive shaft. If you fit a new pump to a worn shaft it will wreck both.
you should be able to get a pump from other sources than an MF dealer.

If it is the original pump, it will be a miracle anything is being moved, they never had a long life
Fair enough. My old 50 got slow and wouldn’t lift the loader in the end. The filter was bunged up. Changed it and it lifts as good as new now. It has maybe had a pump change in a former life

I would definitely check the oil and filter first. Our old 203 became really slow years ago. Discovered the oil was heavily moisture damaged and the filter completely bunged up. Amazing changed everything and it worked well after that. Unless completely u/s that type of pump will tolerate more abuse than a modern piston pump.
