Not sure how to reply to that................... oh I know, BolloxThe cancelling of the AGM was more to do with the membership rejecting the big hike in subs and the national exec punishing those who voted against the motion.

Never seen any of those programs so can’t comment other than to say it sounds ghastlyWell imagine that mixed with Love Island, Geordie Shores, Made in Chelsea and The only way is Essex and i think that will be what will happen.
Funny you should say that as the subs increase was partly intended to insulate National in the event of the AGM failing. The cancelling of the AGM was more to do with the membership rejecting the big hike in subs and the national exec punishing those who voted against the motion.
I would say that was the most accurate post about the AGM and YFC I have read, you have hit the nail on the head with everything you said. Having done several AGMs myself I can vouch for that.Did my first AGM this year and absolutely loved it! What a weekend, fair play! It was absolutely what I needed to get away from the job for a few days. Was mad keen to get going again when we got back, a little sluggish for a few days but keen all the same!
I remember saying to some of the boys I was amazed at how little 'nonsense' there was.... I knew nothing of what had happened in the road till near 2 weeks after! Yeah you get the odd scuffle but nothing to worry about, everyone's just there for a good time and to wind down a bit before the summer work really kicks off.
It's a massive shame they've actually gone and knocked it on the head, I was mad keen for next year! Looks as if half the country are going to go that way anyway.... the general feel for YFC at Blackpool was very good, obviously its all about the £££ but even besides that they loved the atmosphere it created.
As many well know YFC do a shed load for charities, it's a shame things like that just get completely forgotten about when things like this happen.... young farmers absolutely NEED things like YFC in order to have a life outside of the job, year on year it seems to be being made more difficult to do so. The increase in levys? Would be easy enough to stomach, was going to be a £5 increase or something? Not 100% sure.
Start neglecting and knackering up things with YFC then expect a definite knock on affect with mental health issues. Bit brutal? Maybe, but it's just the truth.

Very eloquent, however so far off the mark.
The level of complaints from Blackpool will keep the employees of the NFYFC busy for some considerable time to come. The idiots who acted like out of control yobos, were simply the catalyst to what has been a ticking time-bomb for years. Change in-line with Industry has been needed for sometime.
Farming is suffering from poor PR, most of which is self inflicted - sadly.
Allowing out of control yobs (who probably only joined to be at the AGM) to masquerade as young-farmers was painful to watch for the genuine hard working young farming majority, however it was also an example to everyone of why change is needed.
The general culture of binge drinking (the modern scourge of the young) is fit and well, this is not something previous generations have had to deal with.
Quote NFYFC
"We work closely with and plan extensively with the local authorities in the run up to each event and have close contact with the police during the weekend too. The number of arrests in 2018 was low but the number of complaints from members of the public was extremely high – creating a generally negative impression of YFC and the work it does because of the wide-spread poor behaviour across the town."
Perhaps what you deem as acceptable behavior Ali_Maxxum is not how other people see it.
How do you interpret people being polite and nice to you as "absolutely loved us" ?
Why do you think you may have been treated differently to any other visitors to Blackpool, whether it be families, stag nights or hen nights ?
If you think Yobos representing the YFC is "no different to what happens most weekends in a lot of towns and cities " then it appears you may be part of the problem, as you clearly do not understand what is a stake when idiots let the whole side down, and jeopardize the future enjoyment for others, as well as presenting the Industry in a terrible light.

Did Butlins Minehead in 92 I think it was. Most of the people , myself included ,go/went to nationals for the social element , most don't go ,or have any intentions of going to the debates , the competition's or the pre organised daytime events
Anyone who is anyone can tag along with the members , the only thing they might not get, is tickets to the evening do's
Short of booking up a Butlins type place and keeping everything on campus , the daytime shenanigans will inevitably go on within the eyeshot of the public
