Zintec 3 in 1 from Brinicombe

No prescription needed as non medicated (Imu-herb(?) instead) but trials supposed to show cocci control and some control on worm burden too I think was said. Also 3 in 1 now have maize in this year which has meant ewes taking more, and the Frobut with Imu-herb is around £5/bucket cheaper.

Just waiting on being sent the trial info, and doing the annual comparison between the buckets and cost of drenching but wondered if anyone giving these a go this year rather than the usual 3 in 1 buckets and seen any results...

I would bet his contains oregano oil , we trialed the concentrate for years on sheep and it works really well ,its not snake oil , It doesnt just treat cocci but a whole host of other bugs , (its a natural disinfectant but still safe sheep could eat the plants with no harm ) the company that makes it changed the strength of it some years back and it stopped working in sheep as their main market was birds , Its very safe even in quite strong concentrations , I did tell BOCM and brimacombes it was a huge opportunity, if added to normal creep and min buckets as standard , I just hope brims got the strength right, because it does work just as well as decox and would be a shame to fail on simple economics ,
it smells like aniseed ,so attracts lambs to it so stick your nose in the bucket and see .

Now you mention it, I think I remember them saying something about oregano on the phone when explaining it all.

You can have Imuherb added to their Ewe and Lamb buckets too if you don't need the orf bit.

I hate aniseed so might give sticking my head in a miss!

Did you order the immuherb product @TristanP ?
I had the Brinicombe rep here today. He was trying to tell me that ewes eating the 3 in 1 cocci-clear buckets was a good thing (n) but was quite negative about the immuherb products (mainly because they haven't got customer feedback from them yet I think). I have to say I am tempted to go with the Frobut + immuherb...

I imagine it is a good thing from a people using more buckets and increasing sales point of view!

I went for the Frobut + Imuherb buckets in the end. The price increase on the 3 in 1 plus the thought of building and moving a creep gate around for every bucket swayed me. I did ask Brinicombes for a number or two of someone who has used them before and wouldn't mind giving a bit of feedback, but in their reply they glossed over that question so I think you could be right about having limited feedback so far.

Initial impressions are the lambs like them, and the ewes come over initially but then don't seem that bothered (much the same as I found with the old 3 in 1 buckets).

I'm really hoping they do work but if they don't or it's a bit mixed, and the prices of the 3 in 1 remain at the 'vitamin shortage' prices next year, then drenching will start to look more attractive I think.

I spoke to them last week , and the product in them is the one i thought , IF they have the concentrations right , the immuherb will do as good a job as the decox one , and will clear lots of other bugs as well , so if it doesnt look like working ring them . I know the immuherb will kill cocci

Don't know if this helps answer the concentration or not. I'm not sure what I'm looking for or what concentration would be right anyway!

that wont tell much , as we used to feed it as a clear liquid at a similar dose to vecoxin , so depends if they put enough in the buckets only they will know

I hope you’re right. I must say that I tried OregoStim for a couple of years after your rec on here (or BFF probably), and didn’t see any benefit at all.

I have always been a great advocate of their Deccox buckets. They have worked very well for us, for a very long time. They certainly aren’t a cheap product though, and only made cost effective (compared to an expensive drench) by the fact that the intakes have only ever increased when lambs need medicating.
I haven’t started feeding the new batch out yet, but if intakes are significantly higher then they will have priced themselves out of the job completely imo, unfortunately.:(

Got 6 of the imuherb buckets here instead of the usual prescription tubbys to try, rep was saying brinnicombes has been forced to put maize in the prescription buckets so the ewes will eat them like sweeties.
Il report back later on the see if the imuherbs seem effective(y)

I'm not sure who it was (possibly @jemski ?) who was building creep gates around the new batch 3 in 1 buckets to keep the ewes off as they were taking them like a feed block!

The ewes do like the new ones and we have used more than double the amount compared to previous years. Also when there is heavy rain the new buckets turn to mush and a lot is wasted. They are aware of the situation and are working to rectify the problem, apparently. I hope they do otherwise, unfortunately, it's back to drenching next year for us.
