2018 and website still operating, just tried it there, it's unbelievable to think that the policing authorities do not take action to have the site taken down. We live and learn, and have discovered that we are powerless in these situations. Another victim trying to put this behind and move on.
Publicity in relevant press issues would help a lot to save others.

The money is being laundered through UK bank accounts but which legal authority bears the enforcement responsibility for the website and rest of the scam - or another way of asking is where was the crime actually committed and who has the power to shut it down?

Is it the UK, Panama, Belize, Hong Kong or all the above? What are our authorities relationship with the authorities in these countries. Do their police forces etc. have the money, time and appetite to chase the crimos?

Where are the crimo's actually based? Which of these countries that bears the responsibility has extradition rights. I'll bet its none of the countries mentioned.

Its the internet Wild West 'mare!!

yeah i get all of that.
why cant UK ISPs then have a system that just blocks access to the site from the UK then?
Unless folks are accessing there internet thru a VPN & id say a good percentage wont be sure that would do for a start
Such a shame we just didnt know a HACKER m8 down the pub that could just get into that site & change a few things
Like the picture featured back in this thread heheeee :ROFLMAO:

You'd have to co-ordinate that with every ISP from every possible country, where this scam finds victims. Good luck with that.

Because that would mean every single ISP would have to become judge jury and executioner on every allegation of fraudulent behaviour made by anyone in the UK. How exactly is that feasible? They couldn't just close a website down because someone said so, that would be open house to anyone to make false allegations against people they didn't like, or were in competition with. They'd have to be able to investigate every case, gather evidence before being able to make a decision. Which even if all that was possible (which it isn't) would take time, while the website continued to lure in unsuspecting victims. And once it was shut down, they would move on to the next website, which would have a slightly different name but look identical.

There is no way for any authorities to keep ahead of these people. Everyone just needs to be as vigilant regarding what they read on the net as they would be to a random bloke turning up on their doorstep promising a John Deere 7810 delivered next week for £6k in cash now.

The idea about getting a computer geek to hack the website is not a bad one though, it just requires someone with such a friend/family member.........fight fire with fire.

They are a scam to get get money from anyone can I please give some advice when looking at these bogus dealers,
Check the site and contact numbers most if not all dealers will offer a mobile number, check the address google maps and see if it actually is where they say it is, check out the detail of their wording about their business a lot of these scammers can’t spell and don’t always string a sentence together that makes much sense and if you are unsure pick the phone up and ask other dealers in the area if they have heard of them.
Having a companies house number doesn’t mean a thing they can go on companies house and find any business they want and use their number it doesn’t mean a thing, the best thing is to call local dealers near by hope this Helps.

Regarding blocking these scam sites. The authorities in this country have to work with domain registrars in other countries to get these sites disrupted. The City of London Police say that while they have good relations with some countries, others can be less so, hence it takes time to get these sites disrupted.
Has anyone reported www.lppantsalesuk.com to Action Fraud?

Yes I did this way back in November, their recent update simply complained of delays due to workload. So frankly nobody is going to do much at all, given the self inflicted nature of the crime in this instance. There are so many scams around, particularly targeting old people that these plant scams come in with a lower priority I guess. However it does seem that somebody in person is accessing the cash in at least one case, so maybe these people are not all overseas.
My main criticism goes to the total lack of concern shown by my bank, knowing that another of their customers was implicated. I recognise they only have my word for it, but I expected them to take down details etc, if only to sound concerned. But no they showed no concern what so ever. See what they do if you go overdrawn without an arrangement . Any how it’s done with and I now have a digger on its way from a kosher outfit called Budd Plant , who I would thoroughly recommend.

I know someone who lost £5K paying a deposit on a Merlo multi farmer.

I tried to talk him out of it, but I was quite busy at the time, it would be mid Nov & the "firm" was in Leicster. So I assume same outfit. Just wish I could have shown him this thread. He is a decent chap but too naive to be in business, it was money from his pension pot.

I remember a tv show called hustle. The catch pharase every week was "you can't con an honest man" & sorry as I am that is the truth. This scam appears to have worked because punters want to pay less than the going rate for machines & have got sucked in blinded by this easy money.

Although without doubt honest people will be getting conned every day.

Just read Treditor report in Classic Tractor magazine. It does not however place any blame on the banks who were aware of the fraud in early November but were still taking payments and releasing funds to the fraudsters (in cash) in late December. I would like to know what the banks told Treditor and if there is any chance of the banks refunding at least some of those defrauded.

The banks will have told him nothing that's my experience in dealing with them.
Years ago in a past life they had to speak with the legal branch before they could hand over counterfeit notes.
They will just make up any short fall from these that probably have the least!!!

On this scale of fraud the banks wouldn’t bother to bat an eyelid.

Unless they’re told from up high by means of a summons or court order you haven’t got a cats chance in hell.

You’ve only got to open up the newspaper and look at the off the scale industrial sized money laundering carried out by various countries and well connected “organisations” to have some inking of what goes on.

This is chicken feed, no one is going to give a sh!t I’m afraid.
