Hey there any other issues with the Kane? Looking at the Herron 9ton but prefer the wider wheels on Kane 10ton!

Near sure you can get the herron on wider wheels.
On the kane it bounces a bit empty but only really notice it when the bale extension is on. The paint chips easily. The brakes aren't great now cause they are 6 stud axles. As a grain trailer iirc it only holds about 7ton of barley.

Yes they extend the bogie forward. Mine is on 400s but there isn't room for 500s.
Thanks for the replies. I take it you are happy with the Herron? Seen one and is well finished alright. Wondering in time will the sand/shot blasting make a big improvement on the paintwork compared to others! The 500/15 x 17 (14ply) on the Kane are rated a good bit higher for loading than the 400/60 x 15.5 (16ply) (3800kg i think) on the Herron (3020kg). decisions decisions!!

Haven't done that much with it, only 3 loads of bales so far. The floor height could be a bit lower but apart from that I can't fault it. It's surprisingly easy to tow, even with 65hp in front of it and the brakes are more than capable. There'll be more steel in the Herron and I'd say the finish is better but the price tag is higher. I wouldn't worry about overloading the 400 tyres. 3000kg per tyre plus 3000kg on the hitch would give a total of 15000kg. I doubt you would get that sort of weight in a 14ft trailer.

Looking at upgrading grain trailers for 2020 harvest. Planning on 14 ton on floatation, Keen to stay withing the legal trailer weight limit. They are only for grain and will be driven by students so a good budget trailer is what I'm thinking. What are the options? Proforge from Agrilinc look appealling.

Just wanted to ask do you need any funding to purchase the trailers ? more than happy to assist in funding a funding solution for you, Regards, Angela
