You've got a bit of sorting to do there. I don't know if you have any hills but the type in the bottom two and half layers in the nearest stack are worth putting aside and saving for slopes. They're the only type I've found that work off the flat.

They're wider and flatter and not tapered. Unfortunately you don't get many of them. If you don't sort through the sleepers and group them up into tye different types you end up with a really rough looking track.

Most were bought years ago at 6ish and plenty were grant aided. Even if the weren't they would still have been one of my best investments.

When we laid our sleeper track we laid them on the woods that came with them which stopped them wobbling on the track fixing bolts or eyes

Great thing with them is you can always lift them and sell them doesn’t seem likely they will ever go down in price

Careful what you buy, rough sleepers can be bought very cheep from network rail but they are only fit for a crusher. Depending on where you are will determine the price haulage is expensive 150 is 2 loads I have a spare 150 good sleepers at Derby
