Not mad, straight glyphosate doesn’t seem to have any effect on my volunteer beans !!I might be dreaming this, and need some big kahunas but I thought I’d heard of low rate roundup being used? Possibly in spring when they are big and very waxed up.?
Obviously not recommended but am I going mad?
how come it's safe on fresh broad beans, but not combinable ones!!!!!!!!!!!View attachment 853066
For broad leafed weeds post emergence you're really limited to bentazone + oil, which is expensive and not very effective.

respectI once rogued 15ac of spring beans to get rid of charlock and bindweed. Took a week.
NOT USE Pendamethlin post em (Nirvana or straight) or Centium as these will damage the beans
May I ask why? I did 10ha for a customer 10days ago with kerb flow at 1.7l/ha and stomp aqua at 2l/ha

Sorry, I meant centurion MaxBentazone, right little bleeder for getting into water. I suspect too much pollution risk for application to field beans but broad beans grown on smaller scale and later in season (vining peas more profitable so freezers not interested in beans until peas gathered) when soils well below below field capacity. Negligible acreage sown early for fresh sales.
You will need F hugh kahunas , I don't think it is on the label if it goes wrong over 40ha!!!I might be dreaming this, and need some big kahunas but I thought I’d heard of low rate roundup being used? Possibly in spring when they are big and very waxed up.?

Bentazone gets bad press for not being any good , but if used correctly and not as a fire engine approach it will do a fair job if used with an adjuvant as recd.As title got 100 acres of tundra beans up and growing, they look very well so pleased . But due to weather I’ve not been able to get any pre em on .
It’s quite a clean block for black grass so I’m not to worried and have the option of centurion max, my main concern is blw’s ,although late drilled and roundupped pre drilling and low numbers now I’m sure there will be some come.
What are my options?
They are thick so should compete and I can tidy the fields up next crop but I’d prefer if they didn’t look a mess.

Centurion max won’t affect the yield of beans at all, they are just bad at growing them!Estate next door like putting centurion max on there beans could explain why the only get one combine tank full off 60acre at least is cures there lack of storage problem
Kerb isn't known to damage/affect the plant post em but Pendamethlin isNOT USE Pendamethlin post em (Nirvana or straight) or Centium as these will damage the beans

The only tip I know is apply on a hot dry day for scorching effect... Anything else?Bentazone gets bad press for not being any good , but if used correctly and not as a fire engine approach it will do a fair job if used with an adjuvant as recd.

The reason post em for kerb is not on the label for beans (as i understand it) is that it can damage the plant and cause yield loss !Kerb isn't known to damage/affect the plant post em but Pendamethlin is
