If masks dont work, would you be happy to let a surgeon operate on you without one on?
As I've said before no but nor would I be happy if he kept scratching his nose through it and had also been wearing the same mask for the last 6 ops and had been carrying it around in his pocket in between times.

They do work if used correctly and a surgeon will hopefully use them properly, half of the public don't.
had to wait to go in the post office yesterday as its two at a time, one woman came out with her mask round her neck, one chap waiting to go in had it over his mouth but not his nose and was fiddling with it all the time, two people serving with no mask [I know they don't have to so everyone else has to hope they don't have it], only me and one other woman that came out using them properly. same in other shops
in a perfect world yes fair enough, in this word not really

Anyone in an operating theatre would be made to leave immediately if they touched the mask. You do not even put it on yourself, it is put on for you. Any itches are scratched under the mask by someone else with a sterile tool which is then not used again. Masks are changed frequently in a long op, by someone else again. The surgeon and the team never actually touch the mask.
You are taught in theatre how to hold your hands so you do not touch anything, unless you are passing tools etc. Nothing is touched that has not been sterilised.

Having a mask below your nose probably does not do much, unless you only use your mouth to breath, which of course some people do.

I am beginning to see the correct wearing of masks as a sign of intelligence.

build a bigger motorway with no exits to get them down to Devon* quicker

*Devon now that is a dark place, lots of shadow, was always told never to go there:nailbiting::ROFLMAO:

No motorway, please. Just wall across at the eastern borders - from sea at Somerset to sea at Dorset.

Bigly, bigly wall. Mahoosive wall.

Then a less bigly wall at eastern Devon boundary.

I agree, make the A303 at least 4 lanes wide. No stopping, no parking and no deviating. Drones to take out caravans or cyclists who aren't going fast enough. Anyone on the road after dark the Mendip folk can catch and eat.

Just seen a Covidiot at first hand today - young guy arrives at the local shop without a mask, in fact only wearing trainers and shorts, when politely asked by the shop staff to put one on or leave, he went completely ballistic.
WTF, i'm thinking sunstroke to be generous

In this instance, all gentlemen should be allowed to carry a single shot pistol for occasions such as these. At which point you are legally obliged to pull it out and shoot the perpetrator.

He could have been refused entry for not wearing sufficient body covering, so why his toddler tantrum?

He may have back up and you are not well tooled up. The Covidiot is not a rare beast but unfortunately there is only one type more stupid and that is the law enforcers. $200 instant fine in Aus for that type of behaviour.

Holiday cottage up the road has a family from Salford down for the week. As they explained, they came to Die Fed as the virus numbers are so low here and they are so high at home....and they are enjoying not wearing masks.

Do they know how it spreads?

That's what holiday makers are saying about virus rates when they come to Devon and Cornwall from the Midlands. Many of them not wearing masks, either, or social distancing.
