Shops you can go in without a face muzzle / nappy.

You do have to wonder at depth of understanding some people have, regarding not alone the threat to public health, but also to their basic civic duty and personal responsibility.
Dumb and dumber seems to be just about where it’s at now, for way too many people.
Of course, there will be winners out of such a status. Undertakers!

Radio Shropshire this morning full of pandemic news as usual particularly the Craven Arms outbreak, apparently the travellers camp inhabitants are complaining to the council that they are being held captive and treated like animals...(they don't mind the eartags, or twice daily checks, but the movement forms are limiting their lifestyle ).;)

Some people are genuinely exempt from wearing a face covering.

Please give benefit of the doubt, and be kind.

Until such time as the nonconformist shows themselves up to be a potentially contagious prat who is (probably willfully) unaware of the resresponsibilities that underpin our freedoms.

As far as I can make out, there are three main reasons to be exempt.
1. You physically cannot put a mask on (no arms, ears, head)
2. You mentally cannot put a mask on (you dont understand how to put a loop behind your ear)
3. It would upset you. Never mind you are protecting other people, you are SO important that the virus will never get near you. It does not upset you that by not wearing a mask you could be responsible for someones death?

But if you get the virus, and need to go to hospital, are you going to refuse a mask to help you breath? Are you going to lie there and gasp for oxygen, but still say you cannot wear a mask?

At times I can be in category 3 with face covering, unfortunately, no matter how much I know I may be inadvertently contagious and want to protect others. Panicky, but not right at the vomiting or meltdown end of the spectrum.

It isn't insurmountable at a personal level, so a face visor is ready for days like those. If I feel anxious wearing a face covering in a shop, I'll just have to leave.

And as the OP mentioned a nappy in the thread title, all those who talk such sheet, should indeed wear a nappy mask!!

A report from Switzerland suggests that visors are the very worse option if not worn with a mask

I was reading last night that the experts are worried that infection rates in Australia aren't coming down despite the restrictions. One line of thought is that face masks are giving people a false sense of security and they are not paying enough attention to hygiene and social distancing after being told mask wearing helped stopped the spread.

Don't for get numbers 4 and 5:

4. Wearing a mask impinges on my personal freedom (abbreviated to: 'muh freeederm').

5. Conspiracy theorists: wearing a mask makes me oxygen deprived and vulnerable to 5G?

Since Friday I have been into three small shops:
1 Co-op in Morton near Bourne - all shoppers wearing mask - staff not
2 Village stores to collect Time newspaper, I wore mask - staff not
3 Post office / village store Northorper near Bourne I and four other shoppers wearing mask - staff not and the post man came to collect parcels etc and he was not wearing mask.

Have I missed something in the governments rules - Is it shoppers wear mask but staff do not wear masks. Maybe someone can enlighten me.

Yes. It's called inconsistency. I'm now required to wear a mask in a shop that states only two customers at a time, while their staff don't. Ie at any time 1/3 of the people there are without.

I'm required to sit apart, with a mask on, in my church - maybe ten people for one hour. We are recommended not to spend too much time congregating. However, if we wish we can all go for Sunday lunch round the corner, remove our mask and sit and eat together for a couple of hours.

Then we can all meet up at the pub for as long as we want.

So make if it what you will. I'd suggest a fair lump of it comes down to fear of large sections of the economy shutting down .

Interesting to see that alcohol related deaths (excess alcohol is death from just getting too pee'd) exceeds current daily covid deaths. And we are being advised to cut obesity, yet govt now subsiding eat-in junk food.
