First time drilling

First time drilling, always used a contractor in the past. Using a Lemken combi drill with electronic metering. The metering wheel is a small rubber wheel and in the current conditions it's picking up a lot of soil which seems to be affecting the speed on the Lemken screen. When I get out and clear the soil off it, it's reading near enough the same as the radar on the tractor, but after a few runs it starts to read about 10% slower than the tractor. I assume this will affect the seed rate negatively, so should I be increasing the seed rate by 10% and just leave the soil on the wheel?

Also, what's the normal sequence for lifting out and dropping in again at the headlands? Struggling to get it completely slick, between lift arms / pto / front press etc.

Not using bout markers or pre-em markers as we have full auto steer for drilling and spraying.

Anyway pics showing first day out to prove it actually happened!!

Have you got enough air on? I very rarely drop below 2800rpm on a Horsch but I guess you can’t compare really

Should be able to program all lift/lower functions onto end/go button on joystick in headland management, and depending on your GPS level could even get tractor to turn itself on headland?

I wouldn’t worry too much about the soil sticking, if it’s constantly stuck alter the rate accordingly. My amazone steel one picks soil up when it’s wet and runs clean when dry but never alter the rate 20kg/ha difference you won’t notice the difference.

Ha, I know how to edit offline the Go and End buttons but don’t really know exactly what way to set them up.
You have to record the functions and sequence as you want them to happen manually for both go and end. Go being the start of the run.
If running RTK or centre point you’ll need a field boundary and headland marking to use auto turn.

Theres plenty of vids on YouTube that explain it, trying to explain here would be a bit long winded.

You will be able to programme the Fendt to drop the front press , after a certain distance or time drop the rear linkage/engage the PTO and if you feel real fancy it will alter engine speeds and also put you back in a cruise speed and then do the same in reverse when lifting out :)

Are you using the little arrow things to know when to drop the machine when crossing your light blue inner boundary?
