Shall I swap my loader ?

Got a telehandler with nearly 8000 hours on it. Needs some things doing to it. It’s due a full oil change, 4 new tyres, headstock and telearm re pinning and bushes. Approx price on the above is £5,000.
I’m also a bit concerned about the gearbox/clutch as it’s a bit sloppy on gear change and the shuttle is a bit sharp. The 4ws keeps coming out of line as well. It could do with a new seat as well.
It’s doing 500 hrs a year but without it I’m in a mess due to loading a biomass boiler daily.
I can swap into a 2000 hour machine for around £40,000 which on a 3 year HP will be £15,000/year.
If the gearbox on mine goes that could be another £5,000 but not sure about a clutch repair yet. I can’t decide what to do? Interest rates are up so if I wait will they come down? If so how quick?

If you can afford that figure without struggling do it, it will last you a long time at those hours

what about spending £5000 on yours and buying an additional one at £35k. Then you always have a backup. For loading a biomass boiler, you could buy a construction spec machine which Usually have less engine power and no limited slip diffs. Would last for a long time.

500 hours a year isn’t that much and loading a boiler isn’t very taxing. Probably be best buying a newer machine and keeping the old one as a backup initially.
