Hi all,
Firstly, great community here, have been lurking for some time.
My partner and I have started the process for tenancy. First, viewings next week.
I have a couple of questions that I hope you can steer me in the right direction:
1. What capital is typically expected on entry?
2. Am I...

A longer than usual period between harvest and drilling could encourage earlier drilling. CPM meets a grower keen to hold off.

This year we were asked to host a trial of a biostimulant called Vitalroot, manufactured by UPL.

The Agriculture and Horticulture and Development Board (AHDB) is reporting that a number of variety-based trial results for feed and bread wheat are now available.
Autumn and winter were mild, with adequate, but not excessive, rainfall. The mild and...
This is a thread for those who feel guilty about cluttering up dear old GUTH’s beloved price tracker with the chit chat that stop us all being that miserable our families would throw us all out to sit with the dog in the porch. All are welcome, you can even post prices if you want. The only rule...
I can sell straw for good money but now the equation has changed , straw is stuck in value and grain has increased , therefore it's time to put the money in to grain not straw,
Clearly too much input has gone in to producing an added value commodity , now imo is to produce grain , could go...
We’ve got fit wheat and it Hasn’t rained properly since early June but now we keep catching light showers every day, very annoying!
Weather forecast is hotter for the end of the week but I think we’re going to chip away at it in the afternoons, seems to be between 15.5% and 17%. Any other year...

Thought it would be a good idea now that harvest 2022 is well underway to have a thread with grain yields/ variety of Barley/ Wheat etc all in one place.
So how are your crops yielding for 2022?
Sprayed my wheat on 28th may, two fields got just univoq at 1.25L/ha and the rest got 1L/ha univoq and 0.1 talius. Not long after they were sprayed I noticed that where there was any spray overlap the flag leave went a bit yellow and it's never recovered. Just got worse and the the whole field...
I've been to zero crop trials this year. And as much as I love gleam I'd like a field of something else to go with it. What are the standout wheats you've got? Lots of love for Dawsum I'm hearing ...
I’ve got some second wheat questions:
1. Are there any varieties that are best suited to being a second wheat?
2. Is Latitude needed when a second wheat is drilled as late as January?
3. what kind of seed rates should be used for second wheat drilled in Dec/Jan? I would normally be at around...
We’ve been stalwart milling wheat(group 1 /2 growers ) for years
Zyatt finally bit the dust here last season after a few years getting fed up of chasing the disease in it and life’s a little too short to look at something in a field that doesn’t quite please your eye regardless!
We grew...
Who is doing one and what are you using .
Forecast after Wednesday is looking dry and warmer, so wondering if there’s much to be gained, other than piece of mind .
Has anyone does this. Both clean varieties. But one has a good sp weight and the other one poor. So should balance out. Could be a low spending blend of wheat on paper. Just thinking out loud.
