Good point.Maturity dates? Extase supposed to be quite early .m
Because the premiums aren’t big enough with the input costs. Millers need to wake up a bit smartish. Why mix a Gp2 and a Gp4? What is the intended market?
Why not add value with some premium?
Feed wheat market is usually pretty strong around here so that’s the target. Extase as a group 2 will yield well enough as part of the blend and the four varieties were amongst the best at keeping septoria at bay in variety plots here last year. Why mix a Gp2 and a Gp4? What is the intended market?

Yes please keep us updated,I'm growing 30ha extase/theodore blend this year
Will probably add some in the future if it performs well too.
This year's crop has had 160kgN and £40 spend on fungicides (mostly Sulphur, folpet and some very low doses of Prothio). Very little visible disease except for some mildew on the Theodore, but I won't be treating that.
Will take some photos today, and will post later on how it matures/yields

We grew their barley here in the early 90'sWhat goes round comes round... in the 80s (I think) Sinclair McGill did a lot of research and then marketing of blends. As an aside what variety will you tell your buyer/trader?
