Evening all,
Considering dropping in a water pipe to save on a lot of earaches. Need to take it about 1km. Guessing a trencher is the best option, assume pipe will needed to be sanded in etc.
I can work out the cost of the pipe, fittings and sand but not sure on labour to unravel the thing and...
Were Muir Hills especially good?
They were before my time, but someone has sent me some late 70s and early 80s photos of the farm.
One shows a MH 121 is pulling a 9 leg shakearator up a mediumly serious hill, with the frame basically at ground level. This is on heavy ground, which in...
It's nothing new to combine two bits of machinery and make a more useful one. Sometimes it's a good thing, sometimes not. Case in point being the 'boat car' first seen in Live and Let Die.
Personally, the boat car didn't do it for me, but I did need a log splitter, and didn't have one, but...
A neighbour needs a cable replacing, BT need to dig a trench next to the hegde in one of our fields to get it there.
A BT wayleave is about £10 per annum or some such drivel.
The neighbour is a decent bloke, but should we have any concerns? It is a site we want to promote for development at...

Ireland, like the UK, is blessed with some of the best climatic conditions for growing grass in Europe, and that, as we all know, can also be a curse. The ample rain we enjoy favours excellent grass growth on good ground, but it also reduces some areas...

Hi all,
We attended our first Cereals farm show a few weeks ago and were very happy with the number of people that stopped by our booth! We were the silly Americans with a big, yellow drainage plough on display. If anyone missed our booth or the demo day we hosted last week, I wanted to post...
Hi all
Plan: to install 150 meters of 20mm MDPE pipe to service 2 new cattle drinkers.
Considering doing this myself but have no mole plough so,
First question:
- is it possible to hire a mole plough attachment in Pembrokeshire? Or has anyone got one for sale?
Second question:
- what...
So….. question from someone who has come of chalk down land that never really needed draining. We are now living in central France with some very different ground to what I have been used to. During the winter the ground quickly water logs and takes a long time to dry in the spring. The farm is...

Hello all.
I have a six acre field that needs attention. After a two year battle I'm basking in the glory of defeating the rushes... ...for now. However, there is obvious room for improvement with the drainage. The field has a ditch on all four sides. These need maintenance but I don't think...
Could anyone give any hints or tips on how to mole in water pipe?
No time to hire in a specialist machine. Can I do it to a reasonable standard with our trailed mole plough.
Thanks.
I have a fibre optic company about to install there gear along a privately owned verge , roughly 750 m long .
what price per meter would be a fair pay out ?
i can refuse them permission but they will eventually be granted it by the courts although that would take a long time or they can dig...
