Worse.... it is only a diesel, nothing special. And 318 hp less than the aforementioned Defender v8.

Just like the local school bus, used to be a 28 HP Bedford, now about 500 HP foreign thing, kids still got to school in both.

Easy, sold it and brought a Patrol or Landcruiser!!!







Mind you my vehicle of choice (necessity is a nearly 40 year old L200 4WD, admittedly powered by the legendary 4G63.)

@lloyd , motoring is guilt free. Fuel tax is punitive i.e you pay to play, it's not our fault if the government doesn't utilise the funds raised to address the problem penalised.

The £100k Defender is a v8 with 518hp!! It is also £40k cheaper than the Mercedes G wagon G63.
It could almost be seen as a bargain!

512hp ok if you have a private race track or live in the remotest of areas
but down south it will only gain you a couple of places in a traffic queue.
The roads are that busy you can catch the traffic back up with a tractor.

In the 1970's I had an early Landcruiser that had to be dragged back by a Land Rover in Western Australia as they had a design fault where the bell housing was vented and the dust got in and eventually wore it away!!

They did get much better though, unlike the Nissan!

theres plenty about, i know of 2 locally. y61 swb and y60 lwb. both swapped from 4 cyl engines. td42 turbo is as good as a 6bt anyway so wouldnt swap one of them

That's what i thought when our 90 was traded for a double cab pickup and after a 200 mile journey i was warm, dry and could still walk!

Now it's 3 times the power & twice the speed.
