How do i check that there is power going to the switches at the box?
I cant hear the electric motor trying to engage 4wd.
Multimeter, or just a test lamp.

However if you can here the motor trying to engage, it is either a dodgy motor or the linkage inside the transfer box. You did say it was 'intermittent' though, so you or a mechanic will need to do some detective work. Think like Sherlock.

Not sure we're talking about the same vehicle , top spec or commercial ?
If you don't know where the Widtrak 3.2 sits in the range, I can't help you. There is only one non-commercial class vehicle in the Ranger range and that is the Raptor. It has 20% on top in extra VAT plus the VED is probably much more expensive than others annually.
I guess that only the clueless farmer would consider the Raptor, or one with more money than sense. It doesn't carry or tow as much as the others either.

Ranger is mega , but mega money ... for a truck ffs
I was asking about the Navara you said was like the 70's inside (that is why I quoted that post). I would have said the Hilux is more 70's than the Navara, I think I am as well tbh.

I am looking to buy a new truck and it seems brand new aren't a right lot more than used for what I am looking at. It will be a single cab and Hilux, Ranger or Navara.
Ranger and Hilux seem to be around £20k new, Navara would have to be a king cab as I never see single cabs for sale.
The questions are because I am interested not because I disagree, I have never owned any of them.

That isn't 24k , no way jose
Price one, then deduct NFU 16% discount and if you find a half decent dealer they will give you A further 8% discount. unless they gone up a lot in price you won’t be far away I wouldn’t think.

2 year ago my 3.2 auto with roller cover And tow hitch was a lot lot less than 24k plus vat.

Think there’s BASC and other companies doing discounts.

although despite there faults we have saved a lot more than the price of NFU membership by making full use of there discounts on offer.

In fact the savings in recent years will have paid for membership at least 10x over at a guess.

So you've actually bought a non-commercial Raptor even though you are VAT registered? You do realise that it is classed as a car for all taxation purposes and that apart from coils on the backend and some fancy shocks, that it has the exact same drivetrain as the commercial models.
With a list price of £50k inc VAT it is competing with some superb car and SUV options. The Defender 110 with a good few extras come in under that price, and it isn't considered 'cheap'.
