It's the only chance we get. Plenty people moan about the nfu and other bodies not doing anything. But local shows give us a chance to do it face to face. If they are paying a tenner to get in so obviously have a interest already.

My wife runs education tent and is normally over run with kids and parents wanting to take part in activities and do quizzes.

One thing she learned from a teacher forum. Weird they exist too! Was that some schools were watching online livestock sales as part of classes! Kids loved seeing animals and it also helped with maths seeing weights and prices.
Pity that some f**king idiots complained and got sales streams taken down.

50000 staff
50 per day
20 days
50 million treated

when I was at school 1 nurse could do 4 classes in a morning

if you do not have the vaccine you have to stay locked down

first you have to manufacture and distribute 50 million shots

that’s assuming uk is first in the Q !

absolutely no guarantee they will get a vaccine either- as i said no end of virus have no vaccine despite decades trying

like has been achieved with AIDS there is an argument they are better to focus on treatment rather than cure

There are no plans to vaccinate under fifties unless there are underlying health concerns. No government officials will give any hope of " mass events" yet,in fact they are at the end of the queue and when so many things need booking and paying for up front,no show organisers will want to commit anything until there is more light at the end of the tunnel
What you mean the conspiracy believers are wrong and this is not a fake pandemic created so everyone in the world will all queue up for Bill Gates nanobot, 5G mind control and monkey transhuman genetic modification? :ROFLMAO:

There seems to be a fascination kids have with farming, how many times have we all driven down the road on the tractor past young kids who smile and stick their thumb up. They seem to like us at that age, that’s got to be a good foundation to build on.

I would bet money that the vaccine will not have been put into the arms of near 70 million people in the UK by the end of May next year.

The vaccine will come but they vaccinate probably 5-10 million of the most vulnerable first.

I suspect life will not be back to normal by the end of next year.

Being lost from that is probably for the best, material on facebook and youtube has brainwashed a movement of people into believing it is the rest of society that has been brainwashed.. their growing cult or "rebels" like to get together in trifalgar square and listen to sh!t spouted by Piers Corbyn et al. I had to unfriend someone yesterday as she has gone so far down the rabbit hole there is no way back!  They are a cult made up of a bizare mix of left wind liberals and the far right!

Depends on what you believe is purpose of shows?

For me they are very much a social event. For people's mental health I hope they start again. Biggest earner at our local show is the beer tent.

Secondly they are a great link between the countryside and the public. It gives people from towns/cities a chance to get close up with animals and us as farmers a chance to educate them and promote our industry.
You’re right about the “social” motivation for attending shows. I don’t think that the physical selection of new products for the farm like machinery will change; it’s just where you go to do this that may. Perhaps dealers will see more traffic into their premises - this is what I believe the bigger global players are aiming for at least. Smaller and or more recently established brands may well still require some of the traditional shows to create local awareness. I’m sure the many traditional shows will strive to re run when they can; the big question is what appetite will their exhibitors have? It would make much more sense to change the frequency of shows but organisers don’t seem to like this as it’s difficult to keep a team of organisers occupied if you don’t have an event every year. Trying times indeed

Message from our breed society chairman this afternoon to say that Norfolk Show 2021 is cancelled.

Yes its on their FB page.

Lots of comments saying that they are looking forward to the 2022 show now but somehow even by then its unlikely large events like this will be allowed!

Friend of mine is due to get married next June, about 150 planned for the day event, they should be organizing it now but have no idea if it will be allowed to go ahead so thus cannot start organizing anything, The country cannot carry on like this much longer!

One thing is for sure and that there is going to be widespread mental health problems in a large % of the population by this time next year if things as they are currently carry on much pass Feb/March!
