Had plenty of Honda’s over the years and all been faultless doing 10,000km a year - until 2016 when we bought a black wheeled one. Don’t do it!!!
Get a silver wheeled 420 ES, 2wd, it’ll pull more than a 4wd black wheeled 420 and it doesn’t feel like your steering the titanic :banghead:

Now I’ve moved to Yamaha after 13/14 Honda ‘s purely because of how bad the black wheeled bikes are. Next new bike will be a Yamaha again but second Hand I’d highly recommend a 420 silver wheeled or even a late generation (2005) 350. We’ve always had ES’s and never had a problem.

Quick update. Went and looked and tried the TRX300 that RC Boreham had. For what we need a quad for it was ideal so did a deal on it there and then. (y) For the price and the fact it's only 20 minutes away it was an easy decision.
Hope you can keep it secure
Have you invested in a new jerrycan ?

What is wrong with the black wheeled 420 @Al R ? I bought a second hand (2017) one recently to replace a 12 year old TRX 420 that had been very reliable until it got stolen.

What gearbox did you get? Turning circle is horrendous, my pickup has a better turning circle. Mine is a ES/DCT, to say bad gearbox is a compliment, had a few rebuilds within the first few years, often gets stuck in “-“ the auto part doesn’t work at all, reverse is a fooker to put in, fuel consumption is high on ES or DCT but DCT is horrendous, doesn’t pull like the old silver wheeled’s either, my silver wheeled 2wd used to actually outpull the 4wd black wheeled, a few times the 2wd with 7 ewes and the black wheeled 4wd with 3 ewes and you could guarantee the 2wd would be down the lane first!

I've got a manual shift version.
Ah I’ve never had one apart from on hire/courtesy vehicles and never liked them, never had problems with the ES’s or even the old 2005 foreman ES/Auto we had but this black wheeled is bad, and I mean bad, even the dogs don’t like it :ROFLMAO: The amount of dogs we’ve lost off the back when it suddenly decides to change gears and then throws the dogs off!! Plus limited to 68 kmh?:banghead:

I'm going to throw my hat in the ring: kawasaki klf300 manual.

I had one last 18 years and it only had one oil/filters change and I hammered it!

Fast as fek but you had to be an oil baron to run it as it was drinking petrol like a thirsty spaniel!
