Introducing: The Agrifac Condor V

Introducing: The Agrifac Condor V

Agrifac Condor V: New for 2020

Ever since its introduction, the Agrifac Condor has boasted stability, precision and innovation. The StabiloPlus chassis that the machine is built around provides unparalleled stability in comparison to any other sprayer in the world. Helping to ensure that vehicle movements are not transmitted to the boom, and giving an equal weight distribution on all four wheels under all conditions ensuring uniform and minimal ground pressure are among the key features which the StabiloPlus concept helps set the self-propelled machine apart from its competitors.

The Condor V offers all well-known benefits from Agrifac. As well as mirroring the Red Dot Design winning Condor Endurance II with the slick black tank and new-look cab, a number of improvements have been made in line with the Agrifac “4e for growers” concept; ensuring efficiency, ecology, economy and ergonomy are in mind for the customer and their operations.

A Stage V engine is built into the new Condor V, allowing Agrifac to consistently adapt and adhere to reducing emissions. Again, following the footsteps of the Endurance II, the updated Condor will now feature a Cummins engine, this time a Cummins B6.7 Performance Series engine; fully certified to the latest EU Stage V emission standards. Rated at either 149 kW or 212 kW, the Cummins engine meets Stage V without the need for exhaust gas recirculation. Its Single Module™ aftertreatment combines DOC, DPF and SCR, and is up to 40% smaller and 20% lighter than Cummins’ previous system. Cummins B6.7 engine features optimised fuel economy and longer maintenance intervals offering low cost of operation, as well as reduced total cost of ownership for farmers. In addition, Cummins in-house Holset® VGT™ turbocharging technology sets the industry standard for reliability, durability and increased productivity.

To ensure improved machine reliability, the Condor V boasts adaptations to the driveline to further enhance convenience and operation. A software improvement has been made to the ASR traction control, and operators are now able to drive the machine with cruise control on the road. Upgraded light packages are fitted as standard on the new model, ensuring a better view during operations.

The EcoTronicPlus control system built into the Condor V is operator friendly and easy to understand. With versions that give a wider track width (WideTrackPlus) and higher ground clearance (ClearancePlus), the tried and tested Condor concept can also be used in specific circumstances and the most diverse crops. In addition to various possible options and versions, the Condor is also NEED Farming-ready, which means that the Condor is ready to spray on plant level, with Agrifac innovations such as AiCPlus (location-specific spraying via camera technology) and DynamicDosePlus (individual dosage per nozzle).

Premium Proven: Used machinery with quality guaranteed

Premium Proven: Used machinery with quality guaranteed

As well as the brand new Sprayers straight from the factory in the Netherlands, Agrifac UK also have their own used machinery process in place as an alternative option for customers.
Differing from other brands, their ‘Premium Proven’ machines are machines that have been traded in against a new model, which have then been restored back to factory-quality, and to our customers’ exact requirements, before then being sold.

At Agrifac, we believe that all of our machines are Premium products, and our used machinery should be no different. A Premium Proven machine isn’t just a used machine, it has the guarantee of a brand new product with the exact same service and after-sales back-up.
Buying an Agrifac machine from the Premium Proven program is buying more than just a machine. Agrifac Premium Proven is a total package, developed to offer customers the highest quality and security.

Premium Proven Process
- Machine arrives from farm for a thorough steam clean inside and out which can take up to 3 days
- Detailed inspection takes place by a product specialist. All faults are noted including what needs repairing or replacing on the machine
- The machine is then taken into the workshop and completely dismantled right down to the chassis, with the tank, wheels and boom all coming off
- Boom and other parts are sent away for shot-blasting and respraying with powder paint
- Engine is run up and checked for performance, leaks or other potential problems. With just 5,000 hours or less on the clock, it’s unlikely to require any serious repairs, but it is given a full service as standard
- The spray pack, operator filling station and induction system plus all pipework and controls are cleaned and tested for any leaks or damage. These are fully dismantled and in some cases, parts will be replaced
- Booms are checked over for any obvious damage or on-farm repairs which need to be seen to. Pivot points are also inspected with their bushes and pins replaced
- Any other changes are also made to suit the new buyers’ individual requirements, including many different boom options. Customers can specify any boom width on their Premium Proven machine from

Agrifac’s range - from 24m to 51m
- Plumbing pipework, hoses, connection and valves are inspected
- Solenoids that operate hydraulic valves for the steering, boom lift and fold, plus many other essential functions are all inspected
- Wiring and connections are cleaned, checked and replaced where needed
- Chassis is completely overhauled and fitted with new parts as well as resprayed. Transmission hoses and seals are all checked, oil analysed for any impurities that could lead to future issues, and the filters also changed
- Airbag rubber is checked for signs of perishing or damage, and attachment and pivot points are also inspected
- Any worn or damaged seats in the cab are replaced, along with any other cosmetic cladding
- All machines are also equipped with the latest screens, and updates are carried out to ensure the latest software is installed for the user

StrictHeightPlus technology

StrictHeightPlus technology

Agrifac's new StrictHeightPlus height control system guarantees perfect spraying quality as the distance to the crop will always be optimal. Have you ever asked yourself why a tightrope walker only needs a single rod to maintain equilibrium? By using the laws of nature, namely gravity. The same applies to the Agrifac J-boom. The boom is naturally balanced, meaning that no overbearing balance system has to be developed: Brilliant Simple. The Agrifac J-boom rolls freely over a moon-shaped suspension which ensures that the boom is balanced at all times: The BalancePlus.

To further improve the balance under all conditions, Agrifac introduces the StrictHeightPlus height control system. With this system, BalancePlus and variable geometry work in harmony to keep the boom freehanging in all situations. Therefore, the boom can move freely, and the movements of the machine are not passed onto the boom, resulting in the calmest and most stable boom ride possible, thereby ensuring boom balance and improving your spray quality. Due to the full integration in the EcoTronicPlus user interface, it is very easy to use.

The new fully integrated boom control system guarantees the chosen distance to the crop. By using four wide view sensors on the boom, Agrifac machines receive a reliable and accurate measurement of the crop. The benefit of using wide view sensors is simple: a wide view gives a better overview of the crop. This means that the system can ‘read’ the situation better and it will not be affected by irregularities in the crop. This leads to no crop damages and optimal spraying quality as the boom stays at the correct pre-set height.

The full integration with our BalancePlus system enables us to keep the boom completely balanced, which means that machine movements will not impact the boom. Together with the variable geometry and the accurate reading from the sensors, it makes StrictHeightPlus the most accurate and advanced height control system, resulting in a more accurate spraying height, better spray quality and longer machine lifetime.

StrictSprayPlus technology

StrictSprayPlus technology

Farmers need the guarantee that chemicals are sprayed with the desired rate in the right place, so the solution can work, protect, and feed the right plants at the right place. With StrictSprayPlus you can and will apply perfect amounts everywhere everytime. StrictSprayPlus has three characteristics which help it to apply the exact amounts:

1. Single nozzle sections. To prevent overlap and overdosing to the maximum, every nozzle can be switched on/off individually.

2. Turn compensation. When making a turn while spraying, different nozzles move at different speeds (the outside turn is a longer path than the inside turn). In order to spray consistently at the same rate, faster moving nozzles need to spray more, and slower moving nozzles need to spray less. StrictSprayPlus is the first system truly compensating for this, spraying 100% coverage everywhere.

3. Pressure independent rate control. Regular rate control is achieved by changing the water pressure. However, changing the pressure does not only change the flow rate through each nozzle, but also changes the spray pattern and droplet size. StrictSprayPlus does not need to change the spray pressure to change the flow rate, therefore the spray pattern and droplet size stay the same, regardless of the flow.

In order to achieve all this, StrictSprayPlus calculates the speed and required spraying rate for every nozzle. These values are used to determine how much every single nozzle needs to spray. The flow is controlled by changing the time the fast (up to 100 times a second) switching nozzle body is open and closed. By varying the frequency and the open/close ratio the final rate per nozzle is established. Due to the ability to change the opening and closing time individually, the number of switches per second is as low as possible, but as high as necessary. This ensures the spray pattern is always accurate, while the lifespan of the valves is extended.

AiCPlus Spot Spraying technology

AiCPlus Spot Spraying technology

Agrifac presents the new AiCPlus camera system with integrated Artificial Intelligence to act upon the detected data all in line with the new farming management concept: NEED Farming. NEED Farming is a farming management concept based on observing, measuring and responding to differences in crops, soil, and other variables, thereby reacting to the individual needs of every single plant.

At Agrifac we think precision farming is not precise enough. To make the next step in agriculture, we need care at plant level, armed with the latest technologies. Taking care of every plant’s individual needs instead of the needs of a whole field, resulting in higher yields. NEED Farming, our new management concept, is all about combining the knowledge of the farmer with technology that enables him to apply this at the large scale on plant level.

Looking at a plant to determine its NEEDs and subsequently fulfilling that need is nothing novel, this is what farmers have been doing since the invention of agriculture more than 5000 years ago. However, the number of qualified, capable people with these skills is decreasing, and for the ones possessing this ability, it’s hard (or even impossible) to stay alert the entire day - this is where AiCPlus, pronounced as “I See Plus,” comes to play.

Scan, learn, act, learn
Soil composition, height profile and so on: no field is even in composition. Also, the local microclimate creates differences. Failure to observe these differences leads to a higher, less efficient use of resources, while the yield is not optimal. AiCPlus interprets what is being observed. The different algorithms are not developed by technicians but by farmers, through which is assured that the AiCPlus makes the same decisions as the farmer would do. The intelligent AiCPlus cameras are mounted on every three meters of the boom and immediately analyses and processes the crop. The desired quantities can be sprayed immediately, without offline and time-consuming processing.

Whereas previous spot spray systems where only suitable to detect biomass using infrared, AiCPlus uses RGB cameras that enable in-crop weed detection. The artificial intelligence software recognises and differentiates between background, crop and weeds. This creates more applications and possibilities combining Agrifac’s NEED Farming technologies to for example have different application rates per weed species while in the meantime generating a map of weed presence in the paddock. Using DynamicDosePlus and AiCPlus in summer spray, it is also possible to blanket spray a lower dose like 20% to spray volunteers, spray 50% on normal weeds and 100% on hard to kill weeds such as Wild Radish. For spot spraying “green on brown” the sprayer can operate at 30 km/h and 20 km/h for in-crop spraying. The algorithms have to be taught by example, so every weed has to be labelled in varying conditions and crops. The rule of thumb for AiCPlus is that an algorithm can be developed for any weed that can be seen by eye in the field.

Zunhammer Slurry & Digestate handing equipment

Zunhammer Slurry & Digestate handing equipment

In their basic configuration, the Zunhammer tankers consist of a tank, chassis, frame and rotary lobe pump along with slurry agitation. The heart-shaped tank, combined with the agitation pattern, prevents solids from being deposited in the tank. Unlike vacuum tanks, Zunhammer tankers do not rely on vacuum pressure within the tank to fill or empty.

The Zunhammer SKE Series have exceptionally low weight, low centre of gravity and high degree of stability. The frame is equipped with the innovative ECO System: Slurry lines which run through the frame so that the slurry can flow more efficiently. At the same time, the large cross-section of the frame provides a lower counterpressure than standard pressure lines. This saves energy on the drive side and reduces wear on the pump.

The tankers are also fitted with the Glide-fix trailing shoe to provide optimal spreading quality to the crop. Available in widths of 12m, 15m and 18m, the large operating width ensures high hourly output, providing throughput of up to 12,000 litres per minute.

Zunhammer has also introduced VAN-CONTROL 2.0; a direct measuring system for slurry analysis, making it possible to analyse slurry or liquid digestate during filling. The system allows the use of these natural fertilisers with nearly the same precision as artificial fertilisers. Analysis via VAN-CONTROL 2.0 allow the user to set the desired Nitrogen application rate and leave the tanker to determine the required m3/Ha. Variable rate application is also possible by linking the VAN Control system to soil maps. Optimal metering based on quantity of nutrients also saves substantially on fertiliser costs.

As well as tanker options, Zunhammer together with HOLMER have a range of self-propelled systems. One system of which Agrifac UK currently have available for demonstration; the HOLMER TerraVariant 585.
The most powerful carrier vehicle in the world, the Terra Variant 585, is equipped with the new Mercedes Benz OM 473 LA diesel engine with 585 PS / 430 kW for the Tier 4 final emissions stage. Thanks to the consequent, intelligent HOLMER lightweight construction, the vehicle weight could be further reduced - for an unbeatable, soil-protecting performance weight.

The dynamic design makes the Terra Variant 585 unmistakable - edgy, masculine, powerful. With the bonnet sloping forward, the side suction pipe and the integrated muffler, the driver has perfect all-round visibility - for even more safety on the field and on the road.

The new slurry structure has an even more powerful slurry technology with optimized, partly internal piping. The liquid manure flow is therefore uniquely efficient - for even greater speed in pumping and suction processes and an optimal longevity of the pump.
