Hellish wide across the shoulders.
I'm only an old twit who farms mostly by eye, and I wouldn't want to run this'un for fear of lambing troubles.
But I'm sure the records prove otherwise.

So you don't like the look of him so his progeny obviously can't grow fast or have good muscling. Is that the point of this thread? :scratchhead:
I'm genuinely curious.... will this tup supposedly have easy birthing offspring?
How fast/well his offspring grow is of zip consequence if they're going to get stuck up the spout.

I've no idea and I quite agree. From the poor photo, I would be concerned about the width of his shoulder too, and would probably avoid him for that reason. However, his ebvs are an estimate of how his progeny will grow & flesh, and how well they will milk. With the exception of the lambing ease ebv, the rest of his ebvs make no attempt to tell you whether his lambs will all get stuck halfway out of the ewe.

EBVs are just a selection tool, to use alongside others. They won't tell you if his legs are so straight that they won't last more than 2 years, or if he has one bollock, or if he has crosseyes and a spotty head.
