Anyone replaced a torque converter on a JCB loadall

Did one on our old 525.58, can’t remember anything tricky, just a case of getting all the pipes and stuff out the way, props off and gearbox out. Think we put a jack under the engine? It was all straight forward stuff, two of us did it in a day with only basic tools and skills. The converter was just a ring of bolts holding it to the flywheel

Before you get to carried away. Might help if you said which model. The one mentioned above doesn't have the motor to the side like the more modern ones. That makes a difference. Dealers here remove the motor to get access to torque converter/ flex plate....I know this from multiple experiences with my old one.
Switched to local mechanic who could do it without pulling motor. But still not an easy job. And if it is for arguement sake a 531-70 or the like. Have a good look at the flex plate. 6 times in 7 years this failed on ours. AND it was looked after. Never driven by muppets.

Would never have another with a torque converter......

That's not a common thing to happen normally, theres something else going on to cause repeated failures like that.
Everyone, looked at it and inspected it for alignment etc etc. JCB UK were contacted multiple times for an answer as to why and what to do. 2nd last one was an "upgraded" plate and it still only did 12 months...Common or not, it happens. Dealer that traded it said they always replace both when they're doing it. Plate and converter.

i went through about 4 or 5 flexiplates on my matbro in 18months, i ended up sending the torque converter off to a company to be rebalanced, and it went again, i was then advised to put a knew spigot washer that centralises the tc to the flexiplate, its been right ever since

Did one on a 520 about 25 years ago with a genuine jcb part and they said to put a gauge on it to measure the run out. The difference was surprising depending on which position it was bolted to the flywheel.

Right , having problems , trying to second guess what the problem is

Oil is going in and also coming out , my assumption is the seal on the centre shaft has gone or there's a hole in the tc .

Trying to get parts on site so fitters can do it in a day , or less , can't spare the machine tbh
