According to a Cofco text message last wk there’s going to be an abundance of milling wheat because all the fast food restaurants are closed ? Better to leave fallow surely?

Yes
I struggle to get malting, so high N barley on some but lots of spring wheat.
I only grow milling wheat, winter or spring.
Home saved seed for some, Lennox on contract for rest.

Managed to get hold of six ton of SW seed
It’s in the ground now
I reckon it will pay better than SB
I use Gatekeeper so Gross Margin comparisons will be done in due course

Had 300 ton of mulika wheat here so have gone down the route of more sw than barley just had all spring sowing seed cleaned off the heap and now all in the ground . Now only have 30 acres of which soya was earmarked for but do have 150 tons approx. of chicken muck I think it would still be better putting that muck on and putting that field into sw aswell . Only worry is it has been ww/sw/sb over the last 3 years .Still got 80 tons of mulika in the shed
